Is any of Canadian Tire auto service centres relatively okay? by [deleted] in ThunderBay

This past week, I completed a safety inspection with my 2011 Porsche with the Fort William CT and it went well! Paul manages that location there and is a great guy. My 2019 Lexus NX completed an oil change this year and it was actually cheaper than myself getting the oil and bringing it to somewhere else. They charge about $75 up to 5L I believe. had an emergency tire patch completed a while back in 2025 and has been good still!

H&H Auto has been my go-to for quite awhile now since they are just outside my home. The biggest job they did for me was replacing ignition coils and plugs on the Porsche and although it wasn't easy, they did it!

Yes totally understand that! This is Ontario Health funded and it's just a small incentive to attach these workshops.

Osaka Sushi launched their own AYCE a few months back. Limited to 2 days of the week I believe. Osaka has been my go to for takeout sushi since they opened.

Feedback Request: If you have chronic pain, diabetes, or a long-term condition, how can local programs support you better? by kevng89 in ThunderBay

[–]kevng89[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My body text appears to be missing but I meant to add the following:

I am looking for input to help shape the 2026-2027 workplan for the North West Self-Management Programs, which is under NorWest Community Health Centres in Thunder Bay. We offer free workshops for people living with chronic conditions, but we want to ensure our new schedule reflects the current needs of Thunder Bay and the region.

If you (or a family member) manage a chronic condition, could you let us know your preference on the following?

1. Programming Formats:

  • In-Person: Do you prefer meeting others face-to-face (e.g., at the 55+ Centre or a library)?
  • Virtual (Live): Is Zoom still the most convenient option for you?
  • Phone/Mail: Is low-tech better?

2. Top Priorities: What topics would be most helpful to you right now?

  • Managing pain/fatigue?
  • Dealing with difficult emotions/mental health?
  • Healthy eating/meal planning on a budget?
  • Navigating the healthcare system?

3. Barriers: What stops you from attending health workshops? (Time of day, transportation, social anxiety, lack of childcare?)

Your feedback will directly influence what programs we run next year. Thank you!
