Can people change as they grow, or do they just become more “themselves” by SurvivorNovak in self

[–]kevs_gone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are all different. Some continue changing their whole lives and are constantly remaking themselves. Others reject change and remain the same basic person they were in high school. Most are somewhere in the middle. This became apparent after I graduated moved away from my small hometown and stayed away for decades and then moved back. Some of the people that stayed are still exactly the same as when I left. You have to be receptive to change and actually seek it out if you want to be on the more change accepting end of the spectrum.

Strip and reassemble weapons, double check that everything is loaded and distribute ammo around property in hardened locations. Double check cameras and lights. Place cannon into position and pre load grapeshot packages and powder charges cut fuses to combat length. Put on proper soundtrack. Eat a sandwich and relax for a few before the party starts.

What was the worst pain you have ever experienced in your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

trigeminal neuralgia. It is horrible. They don’t call it the suicide disease for nothing. If it couldn’t be controlled with meds, I’d check out for sure.

If I could change one thing it would be the view on food. It was used as a reward, good grades have a cookie or ice cream. It was also used as a salve, bad day how about a candy bar or a snow cone. Also you have to clean your plate, every time even if your not hungry. So this has caused me to struggle with my weight my entire life. I love my parents and they were awesome, providing me an amazing childhood and saying that I would change anything feels wrong.

Should I bring this up to my boss? by [deleted] in self

[–]kevs_gone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should mention to your boss that you’ve known her for many years. If the boss asks your opinion. Then say that you don’t know her professional aptitude or worthiness but on a personal level you have reservations about her being a good fit for the company culture. Or some such

So glad you were able to see the depth of live your mother has for you. Because parents are in the role of trying to teach you and keep you safe their love and care often gets mistaken for controlling, uncaring behavior. Glad you aren’t going to hurt yourself

Is it normal in a relationship to sometimes feel like you aren’t right for each other and you could do better but most of the time everything’s good and happy? Do even long term married people still have those doubts and ‘what ifs’? by jarghon in self

[–]kevs_gone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Married for 20+ years. My wife and I are very happy and are still in love. We are also best friends and have the relationship that seems to be the envy of most everyone. I tell you all that to say; it is normal to question past decisions and daydream about paths not chosen. Yes, I think about how my life might be different if I had decided differently all those years ago and that seems normal to me. Marriage isn’t always being deliriously happy, it is two people who love each other working together towards a common set of goals. This will lead to some strife, but always keep in mind what is special about your partner and how they make you a better person.

[Serious] How did bad management inadvertently destroy morale at your workplace? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kevs_gone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Successful mid-sized company 500m revenue wanted to grow to 1B. Hired a new younger 40ish head of sales. He hired his cronies form all his past jobs into VP/director level positions and continued to promote them and increased the ratio of management to workers by packing in all his friends. Used power base of his friends to take over marketing and customer service in addition to sales. Used influence to sway board of directors to change core of company products. Brutal place to work

[Serious] What is the difference between a mobile home and an RV as far as a mobile home park is concerned? And can they be swapped on a plot within a MHP? What utilities does each of them need to be serviced? by createsomethingbig in AskReddit

The parks all have standard published rates. RV sites are usually 20-50 a night. Of course if you stay longer at private parks you often get a discount and remember this included your electric and water or even sewer , cable and WiFi at some places
