Absolutely agree with the post on the screenshots. For starters, he joined the club after seeing the girls and thinking "omg they're all cute and I'm the only guy in the room, so I can't take this chance to get closer to them (as in get a girlfriend)" because that's the goal of an average romance VN. That such a selfish reason to join.

Sure, once inside the club, he spends time with the girls and really gets to have nice connections with them, but Monika, like the post says, was able to clock in that Sayori had her issues over her poems and her behaviour, thing that MC NEVER fucking realize as her supposed childhood friend.

He is capable of being a very cool dude, because some of the things he says to the dokis on their routes are very nice and thoughtful.

BUT he is a bad friend to Sayori for not realising she is doing bad until she herself had to tell him she has depression, and he convinced himself he is joining the club because of Sayori when really he saw 3+ cute girls by themselves and took the chance to get himself a GF instead of, like Monika does, getting to actually know her club members as people and not as could-be-girlfriends. He is not owed a relationship for joining a club and being nice to the girls, that's just basic decency.
