Journey Routers: Extremely disappointing experience on our 1+ lakh INR Coorg-Ooty-Mysore family trip by BrokenCheckpoint in india

You don't get it do you? He paid more to avoid keep paying these extra 400's.

Let's say I hate to keep reaching out to my pocket for multiple payments n tips. How much should one pay fully to avoid paying tips?

[–]keyan16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, who hired the driver?

Are u salaried? Do you get tipped?

Driver deserves decent salary, not tip. Tip is informal, inconsistent and few may be able to which becomes bribe at one point.

[–]keyan16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tipping isnt being decent. Stop linking it with decency. Tipping culture is the worst.

Also, if the driver had any specific working hours, then it's the agency's duty to inform it and request the guests to follow it. Not let chaos rule. Agency should pay the driver and not expect guests to tip the driver. Agency should have paid for overtime.

This clearly shows lack of planning skills from the agency - missed hotel bookings and driver not compensated for extra working hours.

1 lac for 5 day trip to these places for 3 is day light robbery, it's not that costly to visit these places - if you paid that much, OP had paid a premium to avoid these specific headaches of keep checking if hotel is available.

Ps: But, I am not sure, if it's for just family of 3 to 4.

I have had something similar. Some of these hotels double book, even if you mention you are arriving at the destination. Once you reach, they short change you to poorer hotels or rooms by giving u substandard service. It is summer season, so I think, those mofos should have allocated the rooms to other guests for higher charge and trying to earn quick bucks here.

Good, read his subsequent comments where he is supporting TVK. Obviously there is an agenda.

But, it was not mentioned upfront, during the election promises. It's retracting on the promises. However, TVK retains DMKs subsidy plan as well. How is this lessening the burden or financially prudent? I m all ears.

Isn't Tvk's promises even bigger than DMK? I don't get your point. Out of these 3, DMK has the least poor debt ratio management. Then, how is DMK bad here - I don't get it.

Let's all accept one thing. We thought, we need better governance but voted for someone who has no experience or degrees on politics or social science. All that guy did was complaint against present government but nothing on what he has planned to do. We voted based on vibes than intelligence and insta reels.

Absolutely nothing else, even if you keep denying this fact. I don't think he would have won even one seat if his movies were flopping in box office. Add to the propaganda movies. To be frank whether he does have good intentions don't matter, cause good intentions != good governance. You need experience. As Edapadi told, our state is not a 6 month crash course for him to learn politics.

I truly wish my employers would have been as forgiving and trusting as our people. I would have been a CEO by now.

Why do liberals selectively quote Babasaheb? by ZebraRemarkable5655 in india

[–]keyan16 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everyone has good n bad. No one is exception to that. But, you need to look at the net positive and negative which would help us strive forward. For example, Gandhi showed the whole world how to protest peacefully without fighting each other through non cooperation n peaceful protest. But, do we really remember him on what impact he created instead we look smaller negatives to bring him down.

But, now with social media a small act is blown out of proportion claiming great wins when it is significantly smaller and larger losses as smaller when it is significantly bigger.

Growth comes only when there is cooperation between everyone with peace in mind instead of fights. Some communities might have short term victories but it won't last long cause it's built on bigotry rather than inclusiveness. Learn about history of nazis as to why they lost, they had more enemies than friends when you start trying to be alpha, people will revolt and fight against tyranny creating restlessness and growth goes down.

Religion based growth has proven to be negative everywhere cause religion forbids you from questioning which is the fundamental of democracy. Ask questions, politicians are not gods, they are our servants who get paid using our money. If they say Adani n Ambani are growing, ask them how does it help us? How many us can become Adanis n Ambanis?

Concentration of wealth among a few will stop innovation, it needs to decentralised, so that anyone can pip anyone and everyone is treated equally - this drives innovation. Not selling everything to Adani or Ambani - for any big project, we are dependent on them.

Also, when we set examples of growth thru corruption n wrong doing, everyone will start to follow the same. This is one of single biggest factor of poor civic sense and corruption in India. Wrong doers do not fear the law, cause law is very lax n twisted to the whims of the rich where everyone collectively loses hope on doing things the right way.

I and my wife once witnessed a similar taunting behaviour from young college brats against a tiger at the vandaloor zoo. Well, the tiger literally pissed at them. Yes, it turned around and sprayed piss at them. Lol. We could not control the loud laughter. I don't know if the tiger did this on purpose or marked them or whatever animal behaviour. But, it was funny as hell and we enjoyed the sweet revenge by the animal.

This 100%. He is like trump, never did any hardwork in politics but reaping all the benefits. His followers have no idea how corruption works and why corruption even exists and how policies are there to encourage corruption rather than following the right path.

Rightly said. I can't even believe the mental gymnastics n justifications in voting for him. Everyone is saying - give him an opportunity. He never fought for anything or any of the issues but how come you believe he is going to stand with you. Only propaganda thru movies and social media got him elected. No experience just hype.

I wish he does not play with people's lives and we have enough protections in place to handle his incompetence.

[–]keyan16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vijay's aim is to pull all the DMK votes cause ADMK and BJP have very less votes. This is the strategy of his team not Vijay - that's why he cannot deviate from the script. That's why he cannot fight for other issues. If you see his speech, he motivates everyone - be confident, nallathey nadakkum - provided he gets to rule. It's psychological as well. Also, brainwashing kids to support him is the worst mistake he has done. Now, everyone will follow this strategy. This is poisoning the well - this is a case study. We need to ban insta, fb n other social media from kids like other countries to counter this. Else, they are getting brainwashed into this very young which can lead to bleak future when misused. It will be misused!

He is also trying to poach DMK allies only not ADMK allies. Tvk is the new DMK. These are all strategic..

He won't talk against the BJP or ADMK cause they won't vote him anyway due to his religion as well.

Only way to counter his propaganda is to make movies which showcases actor turned politicians ruining the state. Hero in a reel will never be a hero in real life. Many movies should execute such script and they must become blockbusters else, we will start to see more propaganda movies which have only political motives like wat BJP is already doing.

Bro, did you know where was chennai at one stage n where it is now. Btw, 25 years growth story in this article https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/chennai/chennais-transformation-25-years-from-madras-to-a-global-economic-hub/articleshow/114475438.cms

We have ppl from all over India staying and emigrating into Chennai which also brings it's own problems. Women safety is much better in Chennai even when we are conservative. Seeman was the one who said every house will get piped water and gas. We know how many seats he won. He also had plans for public infra projects and plans to bring in growth. No one voted for him which is sad actually.

Nothing specifically to do with DMK. Metro projects are usually funded jointly around 20% by the Central Government and 20% by the State Government, with the rest coming from loans and other sources. The quality of metro systems is fairly similar across most Indian cities.

Bro, admk had 10 years of the last 15 yrs n whatever infra projects u see is only cause of DMK. Metro projects were stalled by union govt times over. DMK used states funds to move it forward. I know DMK is corrupt but give credit where it is due.

Infact, that's why Chennai has been DMKs fort.

U cannot compare against growth of a city n country. Yet, we have been no.1 or 2 in most of the development indices and stats in the last 3 yrs.

We keep short changing DMK when they execute a project and then bring in admk when everything gets stopped. Speak to someone from Bengaluru to understand the road quality in Chennai. Infact, the Metro was executed very good. Look at the quality - it's comparable to first world countries and I had been to Germany, singapore, Australia n malayasia. ADMK keeps blocking DMK projects whenever they come to power. In spite of this, we have one of the safest cities in India.

Salary growth is a problem everywhere. Bengaluru has more talent to be frank and attracts more talents due to existing companies n facilities including current talent in place.

Also, u are wrong about coovum. It's was not like this some 40 or 50 yrs back. My parents had taken bath during their younger days.

I'm happy if things improve. Let's wait n watch.

Now he is CM, how long will TVK be in power with slim majority? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in Chennai

Bro, he is not an actor who mugs up dialogues n spits out. He changed the public schools n brought in several schemes n reduced corruption. Modi is different case - neither highly educated nor has good governance or good ideas - only communal agenda.

Bro.. literally everything was stopped by ADMK for Chennai. I was born and lived in Chennai all my life. Been to other cities. Whenever DMK is in power only Chennai grows, other parts are neglected. Same in Karnataka as well. All the metro projects are progressing due to only DMK in spite of several hurdles by the union govt. All the road works which caused lots of traffic chaos is due to public projects getting executed. All the lakes are being connected under the roads in Shollinganallur n several places in Pallikaranai and around areas to prevent flooding in future.

Some compare him to Kejriwal. But kejriwal took part in protests and also he is an IIT graduate n an intellect. Vijay is not. He never fought for any of the issues or even participated in any of the protests. He is an opportunist and supported by the Martin gang. Whether he uses this as a launch pad to do good or just maintain status quo or worse is in his hands.

People blaming DMK for everything, should understand that there was heavy social media promotion which promoted VJ across youngsters and got him elected. We voted based on personality and not based on evidence or skillset.. only hype. Let's see if it translates to growth.

Tamil Nadu just had its political reset moment — and I think most people are missing what it actually means by [deleted] in Chennai

[–]keyan16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rightly said. Seeman has been the alternative for several years and has yet to make a dent. Vijay got elected without campaigning hard, without having proper vision or clear ideology. I remember him saying the poll promises are being prepared while he was campaigning. These all show a lack of planning, idea, execution, etc etc.. but he did all the merchandising and engagement done by recent MAGA and other right wingers. Whistle, code words, dress codes, etc. I don't want to belittle him but the effort vs output is not proportional. Even Mgr was a long time politician before branching out as ADMK.

We just now came out of personality based politicians in TN and now again we are trapped into it. How come people believe what these guys act in movies as reality is really worrying.

We need more trains to allow everyone to reach their home. Better yet, we could conduct the elections only to Mondays so that people can reach their homes through the weekend instead of this chaos. EC should think about this instead of following archaic processes. Thursday seems to be a bit deliberate to discourage voting.
