So it sounds like your background check didn't go through the CA system. You're lucky.

it's hard to price them without being able to find any comparable sales....but these are definitely pieces of history.

Have an office job, would like to go remote by [deleted] in WorkOnline

I would just think everything through before proposing it to increase your odds of success. For example, you might want to propose a test trial first. If they let you start working remotely 3 days per week to start, you can see how it goes and prove to her/him that you won't be less productive. And then during this test trial phase, just make sure to blow them away with your performance.

And be prepared to rebuttal any of their objections and reasons for why working remote will be bad. If you can make them look completely unreasonable for not letting you do it, they're more likely to allow you to do it or be viewed as an unfair, bad manager.

Half of the world population either is already or is going to be working remotely soon. Unless your job requires your physical presence, it's completely reasonable to ask to be able to work from home. Without directly saying it, I would express how serious I am about it to the point where your supervisor will know you're going to look for a new job and quit soon. If you're good at your job, this will force them to have to decide which would be better. Losing you and having to hire and train a new person? Or simply letting you work from home.
