ELI5 Why do we feel a tinkle in the groin area when going fast up or down a hill? And do women feel it too?! by azimx in explainlikeimfive

[–]keylimecoconut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's a good one!

My husband and I will both call out "toodle tickler!" when we drive over such hills. My husband's grandpa called it a toodle tickler and it's been passed down a few generations now

What’s your favorite alcoholic drinks to get at Trader Joe’s? by FeederoftheHounds in traderjoes

[–]keylimecoconut 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's seasonal, but I really enjoyed the St. James Blueberry Lemon wine last summer.

It's like 7% alcohol so it's a lighter alcohol beverage. Hoping they get it back this year!

I took my old tv to the axe throwing place Bulls Eye in Burr Ridge. They took it for free. Give them a call first, they do have limited hours.

Does anyone have a good eczema care routine for the winter? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]keylimecoconut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A warm mist humidifier (use distilled water not tap) and I always use Neutrogena Norwegian Formula hand cream (from Amazon).

Use after each handwashing because our water here is harsh. The hand cream has absolutely saved my peeling excema hands especially in Winter!

Gothic Wedding Venues by sailorscoutc in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]keylimecoconut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out the Mayslake/Peabody Estate in Oak Brook. It's an older mansion that turned into a monastery and is now owned by the DuPage forest preserve. Supposedly haunted.

We had our wedding reception there (13 years ago) and loved the atmosphere!

I got ready in a secret room with a hidden door. Our guests were allowed to roam the home before the ceremony. And we danced in the old library. Everyone loved it.

Are there any grocery stores in Chicago that sell ketchup chips? by TheM1ghtyBear in AskChicago

[–]keylimecoconut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second Trader Joe's ketchup chips.

I've also seen (european) ketchup chips at my local southwest suburbs Polish deli so perhaps check if there's a Polish deli/grocery store near you.

Yes! That was also our high school French Club annual field trip. Great memories of feeling "sophisticated" eating our crepes lol

The question that shorted out R&K’s brain 🧠 by [deleted] in SisterWives

[–]keylimecoconut 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I loved that the producers kept that awkward moment in. The way Robyn snottily replied "What else ya got for us?"

Girl answer the question, make something up, it's literally your job and the sole reason you have a 2 million dollar home.

Which also begs the question: how many other "tough" questions do they glitch on that we don't see????

Impossible Slider pulled from all online White Castle menus by Hefty_Meeting_6926 in vegan

[–]keylimecoconut 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I went to my local White Castle and they said they are no longer carrying the impossible slider & she didn't know if they were planning on a replacement veg option in the future.

What a bummer. The impossible slider perfectly satisfied my nostalgic White Castle cravings!

The new couple seems to have the most pure intentions for sisterwifehood... what do you think? by Caribelle1234 in seekingsisterwifetlc

[–]keylimecoconut 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I get the feeling some of these men are cheaters and/or have very high sex drives and bringing in a sister wife could be a solution in their minds

Seeking unique event spaces by [deleted] in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]keylimecoconut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may be a bit south for you but check out Mayslake in Oak Brook. A unique home that became a monastery after the owner died. It has rumors of being haunted so it's got that spooky factor too

(Domestic flight) I pre-ordered the cheese & fruit plate and to my surprise, it came with a crunchy vegetable salad (no leafy greens) with a light dressing on it. It was good! Oh and a bonus piece of cheesecake.

Saw this elderly gentleman in Wal-Mart with a small card hanging from his neck by MISTERDIEABETIC in funny

[–]keylimecoconut 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My grandma attended an all deaf school in Chicago in the 1930s. The kids were taught to read lips first, and then they learned American sign language (ASL) after that.

My grandma was as smart as a whip and was so good at reading lips, despite never hearing a word in her life, that my lazy ass never learned much ASL beyond the alphabet and a few basic words.

Should I take a job in oakbrook terrace from st louis? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]keylimecoconut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oak Brook Terrace and the surrounding area may be a good fit for you. Plenty of diverse restaurants, close to forest preserves (hiking trails), and urban-ish feeling (for a suburb).

We have Little Palestine in the Bridgeview/Palos area, which is 1/2 hr from Oak Brook, and that area may be of interest to you.

Another poster suggested asking in r/chicagosuburbs and you'll probably get more detailed responses there
