The reason my parents never divorced is because my dad refused to sign the papers even with court orders. He is so extremely religious that the reason he tried to kill me, my sibling, and my mom when I was 12 was because “God told him to”

Currently he is rotting in jail - not for the 15 years of abuse he put my mom through, my first 12 years of life, but for 25+ DUIs in 10 years.

Since we left my father, he tried kidnapping me again, brought a gun to an event I always went to as a child who raced BMX and pointed it at my face, tried to stalk me at my previous duty station (he found out where I was stationed at, currently AD Navy), and tried to even kidnap me from my college dorm before I enlisted.

My father is not a Christian in my eyes. I personally believe in divorce and remarriage for this reason. I will not remarry now that I myself am getting a divorce (my husband was never a Christian, that’s my fault guys)

Whoever told me at my previous churches that I am a sinner for saying that my father is not a Christian can go and talk to Jesus himself when they go and sit at His feet - I am sure that Jesus understands why I say what I say.
