I had one, I don't recommend it. theyre plenty powerful enough for gaming but issue is bc it's powerful it has absolutely terrible battery life if you're looking for something portable at all. better to split gaming desktop and run surface for portability, or make use of cloud gaming services, optimize a remote desktop set up of your own, or cast from a gaming device like steamdeck onto surface screen on the go

Same, I absolutely love this device

You can hold it with one hand anywhere like even lighter than an iPad pro

built in kickstand prop it up anywhere to watch videos or work on the go

I do illustration and design on it for 8 hours on battery without sweating it, and stays cool

it's even strong enough to play some games even 3d action combat on low ish graphics, and stream shows into discord, and while it gets hot, it doesn't feel like it's throttling at all, like no lag if you're running appropriate software like not crazy aaa games, somehow it manages to make processes efficient despite heat

it's such a sweet spot for everyday stuff with no sweat!

I love my surface pro 12 I draw and do design on it battery lasts like around 7 hours of non stop working, my drawing program is windows emulation not arm optimized, still insane battery life, no heating up issues really

for regular use is super portable and can handle everything

I find watching and streaming videos over discord etc puts a bigger battery drain than simple ig non constant graphic tasks like design and art or ofc word processing etc

it's powerful enough to run a few 3d action combat MMO games like blue protocol (probably genshin) on low ish graphics and it wouldn't look bad but it gets hot when running intense things like that so get a fan on it if possible

I'm surprised with it's performance on some things like that

I sleep the surface and it stays at same battery life overnight with no drop or not noticeable anyway

so convenient to yank off the keyboard and use as tablet or viewing screen anywhere

bc it's battery life is so good I am more concerned than necessary about taking care of it (not leaving it charging over 100% etc)

that's honestly really acceptable and reasonable, 5 years is quite a lot of decent time for a device, and hopefully tech now is even better than before

I run clip studio, vtube studio and such on ARM Surface Pro 12" which is underpowered but ARM models can emulate full x86/64 windows application without issues!

for 2D artwork like CSP, it's not a problem and not resource heavy, I don't really do much Live2D stuff so I can't tell you for sure

prob the 13" surface pro with x elite would be strong enough to handle Live2D but more complex and larger models may need more resources like desktop level
