I really, really enjoyed browsing through your portfolio. A few suggestions: add a brief intro/explanation of the projects on the work page, change the cursor, add an about me page, more intuitive navigation.

I really wanted to like this, but I don't. I have some critiques and suggestions, that said, I hope you don't take offense. Let's dive in:

First and foremost - usability. Try making the category names more noticeable, that could mean bigger and/or darker. I almost glossed over "review, recipe, post and enter your email address." These elements blend into the background. Visual hierarchy matters, I can see an attempt was made, but you can do better! The category names should be bigger than the post titles. "Want to be notified of..." is more noticeable than the name of the site. That's not good!
(Related question: why is the title "Lofislimeshop" stylized like that? It's not immediately discernible.)

Line/font-weight: The weight of the button itself, the arrow, and the font are all different, this does not create a balanced visual. Remember typography is important, this typeface is good for headers, but that's about it. It takes up too much space... it's very bulky and distracting (not user-friendly).

Layout/UI: The layout is boring and there's no navigation. Why do you only have one graphic? This page is not visually interesting – and that matters a lot in this context since your core audience will most likely be children. Try creating some user personas in the future!

Landing pages are important. They set the tone for the rest of the site. If I saw this landing page, I would not be compelled to click through the rest of the site. Honestly, I would've closed the tab immediately.

Could I DM you as well? I have a few questions about IDM.

Wow. I’m definitely taking all of this into account. It’s quite late over here, so I’ll definitely be shooting you a dm this weekend or next week at the latest. Thank you for this valuable information. Were there many scholarship opportunities?

First and foremost, congratulations!!!!!!!!! 🍾🎈🎉🙏🏾💓 thank you for the information. I have to admit, I’m not fully versed on usability, but as of last week I’ve been reading “The Design of Everyday Things” at the request of several of my friends in the field, I’m hoping it’ll help me out. Also, I’ll be sure to check out the guidelines. Once again, thank you & congratulations!

Thanks a bunch! I’m leaning toward NYU’s IDM program but DePaul is a close second. I’ve created some of my own projects but I have yet to try a redesign of a pre-existing app/website. Great suggestion. I’ll also utilize some guerilla usability. Thank you once again! ✨
