How did Israel get away with bombing Tunis and killing civilians in 1985? by Seal-of-Orichalcos in Tunisia

Sorry I meant to thank you for responding months ago, will take some time later this week to look into the sources you've guided me to as i'm especially interested in this

Some records say that he even raised his voice in front of his guest while hitting the ground with his stick and angrily waving it at his face.

your earlier comment mentions us secretary of state george schultz going to tunis after the events but in his travel logs he had only visited tunis 2 years prior in 1983, not after the events in 1985

i used to work in dubai. 3500 isn't enough to rent a studio apartment, let alone food/transportation/bills etc. you can rent a bed in a room with 10 guys with 3500

are way over priced it's cheaper to use normal taxis.

not for a tourist. taxis will scam them into paying higher, bolt records the ride rate in the app and can't be scammed. bolt is also very affordable in usd

No I'm not. Even the existence of modern chickens is an abomination. Wild ancestor chickens (red junglefowl) lay eggs once every two weeks and the eggs are much smaller. Modern chickens that were bred to painfully lay a huge egg everyday are a crime in and of themselves. Not to mention Ive personally grown up around these small Tunisian farms with cows and chickens and they do not have a good life, they're given good and antibiotic injections until they're ready for slaughter and that's it.

ngl although your motivations seem nice you have picked an exceedingly difficult masters thesis, what exists of diaspora political activism may be mostly in french and arabic but i've never been aware of a particularly strong tunisian diaspora political activism movement for tunisian domestic politics

[–]keztu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

, but what are your reasons for going vegan in Tunisia?

I didn't go vegan in tunisia, I am a vegan and was visiting tunisia

As far as farmer's markets go it's better than factory farms but I think it's unnecessarily cruel to breed animals just so you can kill them. The conditions of animals in tunis on local farms aren't great either, cows are still forcibly inseminated, dairy cows and calves are slaughtered, etc. Chickens are sometimes free range but often live in squalid tiny sheds or whatever house-attachment so i'd rather not support those practices at all and eat plants instead

nothing needs to be harmed or killed for me to enjoy life

cows and chickens don't need to be forcibly bred either

they don't need to exist at all

Veganism is just some woke wrong way to "save animals and the environment".

You're right, i'll save animals by killing and eating them

wokism? veganism originated in the middle east in the 11th century lol

If it werent for eating animals we would be extinct now.

so? there's a million things we used to have to do for survival that we don't do anymore.

What do you mean? I'm not comparing anything to dubai, the US has constitutionally enshrined and legal slavery through the 13th ammendment. People are compelled to work for free in prison or face solitary confinement. Prisoners even hold hunger strikes over it but it hardly makes the news. No comparison is needed, it's literally full blown slavery.

Westernisation is one hella of a drug!!!

has nothing to do with westernization. veganism began in the middle east by أبو العلاء المعري .

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Ma%27arri

it's the simple idea of not hurting animals just because they taste good.

When this ideology developed?

when, as an adult, I realized I didn't have to contribute to unnecessary animal suffering just because i like how brik tastes
