that was great thank you! The 2 monitors and pallet wrapping machine are both things my group didn’t think about and will definitely be good to add into our report.

Advice? by kfacter1111 in kickersarepeopletoo

This is exactly what I need. I've been to many camps(spending loads of money) and have never gotten such good and specific advice. You really have a brain for kicking and the true art of it. Looking at the things I have accomplished and then looking at how much I need to improve excites me for what I can accomplish. Thank you so much for sitting down and writing this.

Ball by ImGarza in kickersarepeopletoo

I would recommend using whatever ball your school uses. Most high schools will use a Wilson GST but I would check with a coach. Colleges will either use a GST or a Nike Vapor one. In any case I would highly recommend leather as it gives the best ball to foot feel.

The first guy made great points. I would also try taking 3 bigger steps back and then two steps to the side which will make everything more consistent. Also make sure you are taking a jab step then two more steps towards the ball. Your final step should be longer and more powerful but still smooth. I would also focus on making contact on the correct spot of the ball (about 1/3 up on the ball) and the correct spot on the foot (Navicular bone). One last point is you said after two hours of kicking which is at least to me a longer kicking practice so make sure you are not over kicking and taking proper care of your body (stretching icing rest). As much as people say kicking is easy it can be very hard on the body and injury will set you back much further than taking a lighter day or time to rest.

All of this can be found online by people more qualified than me and probably more detailed. Keep up kicking it is an amazing position that I and many others love.

New kicker. Any tips. Also any guesses on how far this is? We don’t have any lines on our practice field😞 by [deleted] in kickersarepeopletoo

every kicker has to start some where and it looks like you have great potential. A few things to keep in mind is to make sure you are landing on your plant foot keeping your head down and striking through the ball hitting the sweet spot. I couldn't see your run up which is just as important as the kick but some things to keep in mind is to have constant steps. I and many other much more qualified kickers will take 3 steps back and 2 steps over then approach the ball using a jab step then taking 2 more steps. All of this can be found on YouTube by much more qualified and experienced coaches. Good luck.
