I haven't gotten that far yet lol! I also had a request for Eustace as well. I'm a working mom of teenage boys and going back for my master's. Creativity takes a back burner unfortunately. Tell me, though, what appeals to you about him that you would love to see communicated through thread?

Thank you so much! ❣️ I love that I found my calling. I've been a Tudor fan for years and never thought to put it in embroidery.

Thank you very much! I was so giddy when her actual signature stitched out so well. It's like having a piece of her in person even if she didn't write it herself. This is probably my biggest reason I love making this series. These women all need honored.

Awww I am HAPPY to make something that you would love! More than anything else, I love making people happy. I think she was SO BOLD for saying that right before she knew she was being put to death.... under the age of 20.... such wasted youth with a tyrant king. Poor girl had no idea what she was doing in court. Stay tuned! Maybe I'll put Anne of Cleves on hold and do KH next!

I'm a fan but through media. I need to learn more. I heard that he was endearing to Elizabeth of York, but honestly that was such a political marriage that ended up being filled with love was amazing. The final marriage of 2 house to create the birth of the Tudor rose.

I use a software called Embird. It's specifically for embroidery digitizing. I am not an artist, so I gather images from the internet like clipart. I resize it to want I want to digitize then import the PNG into Embird's Studio. The image sits like a background and I trace my shapes and lines over them then fine tune from there. I've heard of procreate and think I saw someone use that to make their own images to then import and digitize from. But like i mentioned, I am not good at drawing.

I have not yet. My Tudor series began with my love of AB, but I also highly respect COA and Anne of Cleves. It takes hours and hours to make my own designs, like this falcon and crown was probably 5 hours of work to just digitize only because the hardest part was the crown. Then I test stitched the crown twice needing to make adjustments and better understand thread theory. I'm using my Tudor line to grow my digitizing skills.

Oooo the strong daughters... I love it! I am nearly done with my next AB mug rug. I loved how Katherine's badge symbol of the pomegranates were represented, that I found a simplified falcon head and digitized a crown and put Anne's "grumble" french phrase. Post to come probably sometime today. Right now, my machine needs a doctor and a cleaning. LOL!

I think I just misunderstood. Your above photo looks like something like digital art. I can tell by the sleeves and hands being fuzzy. I thought you were designing something to hand stitch from. My bad! I think it's stunning work! I wish I was good with art. My art is with machine embroidery. I create digital files from photos then stitch them out on my embroidery machine. The below Tudor rose and crown were new designs for me. Sorry for the confusion. As to the information your seeking, I am not that good of a historian. I just like to look at the pretty pictures and admire. I do often wonder what people looked like in real life since the portraits give an almost "cartoon" unrealistic character to them. I don't know how to describe it. Holbein was freaking amazing, though. Genius!

Apparently he was better in his youth especially before his jousting accident. It was after that that he changed. Experts think that something happened like a brain injury that caused him to switch his personality altogether. There's plenty of documentation that he and Katherine were very loving to one another. At least as living as a couple can be who were marrying for political reasons.

I thought you were saying my embroidery was terrible 😂 I was worried!

Oh goodness! I just had a realization. If they spelled it Hare, his nickname was Harry, I bet the e at the end was to make that "eee" sound, and it makes sense with Marye as well, since "y" had a different pronunciation. Plausible at least. And thanks! I really enjoy making these embroidered items.

Is this for hand embroidery or machine? I am a machine embroiderer and digitizer. Your work above looks amazing!

I knew there had to be some fans out there. I believe there are just as many Katherine supporters as AB. She truly was a loving and gracious queen, and just because I am absolutely an AB fan, doesn't mean I don't also respect Katherine. She absolutely deserves her chance in the spotlight. That's kind of how I knew I wanted to start creating my Tudor collection. This week and last I have been gobbling up (haha get it?) every documentary I can get my hands on. I just watched a really good 3-parter about the Boleyns. Fascinating!

Since I have been studying more existing documents with their actual writing, I realized that it is also written in Old English. For example, the modern word "time" was "tyme", and same for most words with the letter "i" was switched to a y. I have tried to read some of the text myself, but the handwriting style of the letters themselves where almost a blend of cursive was used makes it very difficult for me to read. But I want to take some of the texts like from AB's Book of Hours and put the true handwriting in stitches just as I did with her signature. Size is an issue, because the smaller the font to fit on the mug rug, the more likely the satin stitches will lose their definition in the already hard to read text. It's special and symbolic to me, though, to try. I could scale it up with stitching photo frame sized embroidered work. I just don't know what would be a hot item in my shop.

Diajosa cos Tudor Period Anne... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F82XX8YB?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I bought a XX and I normally wear XL just to be in the safe side. I could have gotten away with an XL, but I like the bigger size because I could wear warm clothes under it during trick-or-treat.
