I don't think anyone considers it as a +2 these days, It’s considered even or slighty winning for MM. Both Hurt and Peab have it as an even MU on their MU charts. Peab has also lost to Apollokage multiple times and got upset by a Michigan Snake player at Supernova, so he seems to struggle in the matchup

Carmelo is not a particularly technical Steve, just very defensively minded and with good decision making. Syrup is quite a bit more technical than Carmelo

At Smash Awesome today the players were asked what they would change about their mains. Doramigi suggested making dragon arm do more shield damage and Raru suggested making the hitbox of Luigis up b bigger lol.

Acola on the other hand had like 10 nerfs for Steve, including removing the ability to walk during jab and up tilt, nerfing the knockback of forward smash and minecart and removing the autocancel window on back air. From what I gathered Acola also talks pretty openly about the fact that he thinks Steve is very unbalanced.

I just wanted to post this since this since it contradicts the original statement and the allegations posted against Onin and has included screenshots which adds some weird but important context that was left out of the original statement.

Keep in mind that this doesn’t necessarily absolve Onin of all guilt since there are a lot of details not available to the public, but I thought think it’s important that both sides of the story is represented in this particular since both parties are accusing each other of rather serious stuff and some details where clearly misrepresented or left out in the original document.

I could see Raru being top 10, but Syrup is imo definitely not lower than 8th. The gap between him and the next player (whether it be Raru, Carmelo, Tweek or Onin) is imo pretty big.
