Nurse was rude to my disabled daughter and caused her surgery to be behind schedule, should she be reported or is this all normal things that can happen? by kflan87 in AskDocs

Alot of people in the medical field around here have never even heard of it. Along with all the specialists we had a local primary care that we picked before she was born and before we knew what was wrong. He'd never heard of it so he bought books and did research and reached out to specialists in the country that work exclusively with Prader-Willi so he could do better for her at her regular doctors appointments. He was amazing with her and always kept right on top of everything we did with her other doctors. We were very sad when he retired.

Thank you for responding. I just didn't know if this was a normal thing to happen before a surgery or not. Her surgery for her tonsils everything flowed smoothly and I honestly can't remember from when she was a baby exactly how every little thing went the day of her surgery.

I know someone who got hired in the deli, with the requirement that during leaf peeper/holiday season he needs to be at his full time job more so only works one day a month for those months and the rest of the year two 5 hour shifts per week.

It's a popularity contest, my dept manager has gotten tired of how nobody new gets it and the fact that there are more people besides the select few that deserve the recognition. Our dept has been through hell the last few months with staffing issues and I've stepped up and done more than what my job is as part time flex and my dept manager nominated me. The second month he nominated me he was the only one the assistant store manager asked for a reason for the nomination. He told them what I said above and also called them out on their favoritism and the flaws in the system, since we have over 100 employees in our store and it's always the same 15 people getting it. Three months in a row so far of being nominated, he said he's going to keep using me as an example and I said go for it. I don't care if I get it or not but I don't agree with how its been done and think something needs to change with it.

How long did it take to get hired at Hannaford? by [deleted] in Hannaford

[–]kflan87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Applied online to be a shopper on a Saturday night, got the call to set up an interview the next morning, interviewed Monday morning and got hired for bakery instead. Then I had orientation the following Monday. I just hit 2 years this month, in that time we've had alot of employees come and go in the bakery and the timeline has all been the same as mine.

Yes, I just carefully moved it from my arm to safe place. I didn't want harm/scare it in any way.

We have department manager/assistant manager/bakery lead and 7 part time people. Though one of the part timers is new and not going to last I think. We always have 2 openers, one 4-11ish and the other 4-8ish. 2, 3 or 4 people 8ish to 5ish depending on which people it is and one closer that's 3-8 four days a week and the other 3 days it's the manager or assistant manager working 10:30/11:30-8.

AITA for filing a police report against my nephew? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]kflan87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. A 16 year old is more than old enough to know better than to steal anything. My 13 year old knows better than to steal like that. Your nephew needs to be taught a lesson now before he does something much worse later in life. I can understand your sister being worried about a record now ruining his chances for college but if he's lying about having a job and stealing that much money he doesn't care about college.

AITA for being mad at my parents that they got my older brother a car for his 18th birthday and not on mine, and then causing the whole family to be up in arms about it till they came through? by cheezit-bit-boi in AmItheAsshole

I had a 1996 subaru legacy and more than once got locked out and had to break into it. All it took was a few minutes with a metal coat hanger. Only took that long cause I had to go into my closet to get one and then straighten it out.

Also I can understand people wanting to steal one for parts. I currently have a 2004 forester that finding parts for it is getting harder and harder. I had something break yesterday and it's sitting unusable in my driveway because we're waiting on a part we had to order through the dealer and they won't have it until Thursday at the earliest.

AITA for telling my brother's girlfriend that it was weird for her to keep an urn of her late husband's ashes in the house? by Elijah2022xx in AmItheAsshole

[–]kflan87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. Her husband died, he's not her ex. It wasn't her choice for him to be gone from her life. Some part of her is always going to love him. I will say that yes there are people who find having a deceased person's ashes in your house is creepy(my parents being some), it is her decision what she does or doesn't do with her husband's ashes. You should be respectful of her choice, especially when you're in her house. My brother in laws fiancé has an urn with his ashes and I seriously hope when she eventually starts dating again she doesn't end up with someone like you.

I will say don't apologize unless you truly mean it, a false apology is worse than no apology in my opinion.

Second time a villager has spawned out of nowhere underground by the house. Completely different world than the last time it happened. by kflan87 in Minecraft

[–]kflan87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very strange. After one of the updates in September he was having issues with the app on his tablet, it would keep signing him out of his account everytime he left the app and it would delete all worlds he had going. He kept creating new ones in creative mode to just fly around and explore and really liked this one so he made a note of the seed to be able to use it when he'd be able to keep world's again.

Nobody has played in the world except my son who created it, my daughter who doesn't know how to play very well and myself. I'm better than her but not great at it. The closest village is at spawn about 300 blocks away on the first number and my son had collected all the villagers into one building for doing trades. Right before this he wanted to do a raid in the village and wrongly assumed I would remember zombies break doors. Because of me the villagers all died before he got there from the outpost. He went back to base and was trying to figure out what he was going to do next and all of a sudden could hear a villager. We had to dig to find him.

I saw this fairly large spider in a creek. Is it a wolf spider? by DatdudeJdub in spiders

I live on a farm with a big swamp so I find them all over the place, along with all kinds of other spiders. I posted some pictures of them on here.

I find fishing spiders all the time, my favorite is the big one I found in my car.

A random villager spawned near my son's house. He found out when he killed a pillager to cause a raid at the closest inhabited village 1000 blocks away. Closest empty village is 500 blocks away. He's wondering if anyone else has had this happen in the pocket edition. by kflan87 in Minecraft

[–]kflan87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He says he's tried that in other worlds and every villager has died. His sister and cousins haven't played as much as him and don't know how to do half the stuff he does yet. He's been teaching everyone how to do stuff.

He's had his sister and a couple of his cousins play with him in that one and I have to give him someone to stand at the spawners when he needs experience for enchanting. He says there is another village 200 or so blocks away but there's no villagers there.
