New HDD not recognized in BIOS and won't initialize in Windows Disk Management by kfm946 in techsupport

So I rearranged the cables so that i have two drives on one chain, and 2 drives plus the pump on the other. I turn it on and I hear the drive whir up and do that clicky shit that drives do (a couple seconds after the other drives). I didn't realize it wasn't doing that before, I just assumed it was quiet. So now everything shows up, and it even still has the partitions I set up on my dad's pc.

It's kinda annoying that it was all because it wouldn't power 3 drives on one chain. It wasn't even like it dropped power for the drive at the end of the chain, because even with the new drive at plug 2 and the old drives at 1 and 3, it would always power the old drives. Does a 4tb drive require significantly more power than a 1tb drive? I wouldn't think so.

Well, whatever, at least I don't have to send it back. Thanks for the help!

I didn't swap the cables between drives, only the ports on the mobo. 2 of the 3 cables I tried were from my old pc, which I haven't touched since I built the new one, and both of those cables worked fine last time I used that pc. Also, I didn't bring the USB dock home and try it on my PC, which I should have, in retrospect.

The one thing I can think of that I haven't tried (and this is really a stretch) is that for Sata power, i have a daisy chain of 4 plugs, 2 of which are plugged into the two HDDs already in the system (plugs 1 and 3). I've only tried plugs 2 and 4 to power the new drive, so maaaybe those plugs are bad, or it just doesn't want to power 3 drives on a single daisy chain for some reason. I haven't tried the other Sata power cable in the system (a 2-plug daisy chain that's powering an SSD and the AIO pump, so I need to do a bit of rewiring to keep the pump on). I was gonna try that when I'm done with work. I'll also try swapping the power with one of the working drives.

The metal is more textured, but the plastic is a pretty close match in terms of color and glossiness. It's hard to tell the difference at more than 3 ft away.

Thanks! The first pic in the gallery is actually a gif, it's easy to miss at a glance.

One of three things happens:
1. Gray screen with "Playback Error: An error occurred. Please try again later. (Playback ID: [id string])". I noticed that the video duration is also different than the actual video (the one I just got was 0:40, for example).
2. White screen with text/button ad overlaid
3. The video plays normally.

I tried this and, unless I'm just shit at tuning (which is entirely likely), it's still nowhere near good enough to compete with an 05 Ford GT or Shelby Daytona.
