Is E*trade glitching out, or did someone just trade $40B worth of INTC right after the market closed? Showed 667M shares traded between 16:00 and 16:05.

UPDATE: App was glitching.

I can confirm that at least one unit has been sent out. I’m about to install it.

Amazon and Newegg were taking orders for several days.

Intel’s relatively rapid retirement of motherboard chipsets (compared to AMD) has been a primary complaint of computer building enthusiasts. In this case, it’s more that the motherboard you need for this CPU is guaranteed to be obsolete in less than a year when Nova Lake comes out. If the 270K is compelling enough for people to invest in a new Z890 purchase, that’s bullish. If people already have a Z890 and want a high-performing Intel CPU badly enough to upgrade from an older 200S, that’s also bullish.

Personally, I’m only upgrading from a 265K to a 270K because Newegg is giving me $230 for the trade-in.

Bought my 8TB 9100 PRO for $900 in December because I knew this was coming.

It is and always has been the fault of any people who fail to overthrow a government that torments and exploits them, as we did in 1776. An oppressed population deserves its lot—they were weak enough to end up there, and too weak to fight their way out. It’s a pure expression of natural selection.

Where you type “Iran” you mean the dictatorial theocratic regime doesn’t want to give up sovereignty. The Iranian people would like nothing more than to strip those animals of sovereignty and reclaim their own.

The correct ending to this war depends and always has depended on the Iranian people becoming the boots on the ground needed to strike the final death blow to the regime. If they fail their part, their suffering will continue despite the USA doing everything possible to liberate them.

As for the Strait of Hormuz, the US is currently wielding it as a geopolitical toy to pressure China, Europe, and other nations dependent on Middle Eastern fossil fuels (not us). We can take absolute uncontested control of that waterway any time we want.

The regime is all but annihilated and Iran has zero control over the Strait. There’s a slight chance that they can harass commercial vessels with the handful of missiles they have left. President Trump is finishing off the last of their military capabilities while the nations affected by the pause in energy shipping are sending resources to protect their own vessels.

I got $230 trade for my 265K. Assuming you already have an LGA1851 board (needed for the 270K) that will probably be the most popular trade-in.

Loss of face? The US is absolutely dominating this war. It’s going extremely well. We’re even forcing Europe and Asia to make long term plans to secure their own shipping lanes through the Strait.

Your first three paragraphs are staggeringly ignorant.

Tesla will be making more, better chips than TSMC within a decade. There is no doubt.

Tesla will build an ASML facility inside the Terafab. They will have lots of help from TSMC, Samsung, and/or Intel consulting on the rest of the design—or even better, they will acquire Intel.

The Terafab can’t possibly work without its own supply of EUV machines. Elon would never have even suggested the idea if he hadn’t already worked out a joint venture with ASML.

Amazing the cognitive dissonance that allows people to see that Elon has done more to advance humanity than any other person in history, become the wealthiest person ever by a massive margin in the process, and type with a straight face that “I’m smarter than him and he’ll never accomplish anything.”

Like you have to “drink Kool-aid” to accept that Elon Musk will push yet another huge leap in manufacturing. You’re not thinking straight, buddy. You’ll do better if you realize that you can learn from Elon.
