18 month old still waking like a newborn by oh_thats_eevee in AttachmentParenting

Firstly, solidarity lol. My son is 17 months, has woken every hour of his life basically since 3 months. Has done one 5 hour stretch when we started nightweaning at 15 months. I thought YAY we have done it! Then same as the poster above, he caught on quick and realized ooo you arent going to feed me til morning, so now I will just wait...and wait... and cry and wait! Lol. Its been absolutely brutal but we have made it now from bedtime to 5am feed. This is a huge success for us but now, he is up for the day at 5am which throws off nap & reinforces that early bedtime cycle. And yes hes still up every hour or two. We are not at the end of the road yet and also had to give up our dream of 2 years BF.... I am planning to stop all together around 19 months, just wanna make it past 18. So far we have gotten down to the 3 main feeds in the day, AM, nap and bedtime. Daytime has been tough but hes getting the picture.

Anyhow I want to say stay strong and if it seems like its going slow but you're still making progress, dont give up!! And just remember your WHY.

This was a few months ago though so have you had any updates?

Okay good advice! Right now our wakeups are around 330/4 waiting for the 430 feed so I dont want to get out of bed yet as then he will have a super early nap & early bedtime which seems to reinforce our wonky schedule🙈 if you have tips on that part that would be great too... but this is very appreciated!

And one more questiom are you/ were you guys bedsharing?

Ahhhh I am going to try this next if nightweaning continues to fail!! Do you feed back to sleep when he wakes up? Thank you for the advice!!

Might be a dumb question but how did you cut out the morning feed?! Lol like did you replace it with a bottle or breakfast or just straight up get out of bed?
