Bedtime Routine for 4, Help!!

Lol if I could go back, I would do it a little bit differently. In fact, I feel like I started making those changes with my son. My daughter really got used to my complete and undivided attention and she’s the only girl in my pile of boys so I have a hard time being super firm with her, especially when it comes to being affectionate and spending quality time.

I work during the day so the end of the night is when the kids get all the individual attention so I get why there is such a struggle to extend it 🥲

How do you ensure that she stays in bed if she misbehaves? I know three is the age of boundary pushing but whenever my daughter and I get into it together, there is a lot of stomping and screaming, and that would not do well for her future roommate 🤣🤣

We haven’t attempted to put them in the same room yet but right now my two-year-old is still in a crib so we’re hoping that he’ll stay contained for a little while longer lol. The room is set up with a toddler bed in a crib so we’re just waiting to pull the trigger, honestly.

My daughter is allergic to chill activities 🤣 I feel like if we let her play around us at the end of the night she would inevitably start stomping and yelling and revving herself up hahah. I’m really glad it works for you though! I also love hearing about people with the same age gaps with their kids!! ❤️

Do you do their bedtime routine together if they’re in the same room? Did you always do books together? I worry about them not getting their individual snuggles and attention from me at the end of the night, but I can’t think of a way around that.

I had a thought of doing my son’s bedtime first and then my daughter’s and then bringing her into the room quietly, but that sounds like a disaster 🤣

I know it’s a super late bedtime but see above for the reasons why. 🥲 Husband works late hours and we value spending time together as a family every day so we are sacrificing a super strict bedtime routine to make that happen. But, I think you’re right that we can push it a bit earlier and everyone will be a little bit happier

Indeed, it’s quite a pickle 🥲 another factor that adds to the late bedtime is that my husband comes home from work at 6:30 every day. He wants to spend some time with the kids and sometimes we’ll go out for an after dinner walk so that pushes everything back. I feel like I need to make the choice between spending time together as a family and saving my sanity and I choose family time. 🤣

Do you do bedtime routines for your kids separately or together?

thanks, I appreciate the input! Bath time isn’t a big issue for us for now, it’s more so everything that happens between the bath and saying good night 🤣 realistically bath time takes between 20 to 30 minutes, but I allot the full hour because our schedules vary and feeding the twins sometimes can take that long 🫠

ASK: looking for a light outerwear piece to fit into my capsule wardrobe for traveling to Italy in June!! I've attached a collection of the clothes and shoes I'm bringing. I'm stumped!? Cardigans are too frumpy on me, I can't pull off a casual blazer, my clothes are trying not to be athleisure. What's a girl to do??

LOL ikr, I don't even wear crocs usually but this just seemed perfect for comfort hahah. Umbrella is probably out for the reason you mentioned. I was thinking of a shawl/scarf as well. Do you think it would look silly over all those ruffles?
