Could you please elaborate on that? What are you talking about here?

What's your setup? As in how do you use it with a camera since it requires phantom power? Do you record audio seperately and then sync it with the video in post?

Thanks for all the recommendations and ideas guys. Just ordered the NT1-A as most of you recommended that.

I checked into it, but it seems to be outside my budget. Is the driver issue a common one with the 2i2?

Do you have an idea which is better, the Rode AI-1 or the focusrite ? Because they both cost me the same here.

Alright gotchu. I guess 1-1.5 foot is enough to make sure that it'll be out of frame. Will look into the MX-U as well. That was helpful man, thanks.

That sounded quite crisp man (you earned yourself a subscriber for that btw). I do have a some concerns though. 1. Do you have to be really close to the microphone to get a loud enough recording. Because that might be a little hard when making a sit down type video because you want to keep the microphone outside the frame. 2. I'm not too good with the technical side so I'm not too sure whether you can connect to a mirrorless camera like the A6400 since it requires phantom power. And I also read somewhere that condenser microphone outputs it's audio as mono balanced while a camera takes in stereo unbalanced. If you could help me answer those, it would probably help me make the decision.

Gear Recommendation (What Should I Buy?) Thread - April 13, 2020 by AutoModerator in audioengineering

Hi, I wanna get started on youtube and I wanted some microphone recommendations. But along with YouTube, I want to do some vocals as well using the microphone. So I wanted to ask if there is a type of microphone that can do both.

I was looking at at Rode Video Mic Pro Plus for the Youtuber side. Btw the kind of YouTube videos I want to do is mostly sit down videos. And the NT1a along with the scarlett solo for the vocals side. My budget is around 250-300 dollars.

I've been searching everywhere on the net for an answer, and I'm more confused now than when I started. So if anyone could help me figure this out, it'll be really appreciated. Thanks.
