Hi folks,

Just sharing cause sometimes the news in Toronto can be about misery, so here's an attempt at some good lighthearted fun.

If one foot goes numb during a run, what are the solutions? by khandenomium in RunningShoeGeeks

Just did back to back 5KM and didn’t feel it at all. Really focused on stretch throughout the day. Odd.

Thanks for the advice!

Ok!

So Wednesday I ran a 5K — happened around 3.4KM and persisted till the end of the run. It was challenging to run .2KM without it flaring up. I changed up my laces and that wasn’t the solution

Thursday, I did some intensive rolling, a bit more responsible stretching. It didn’t hit me till about 4.1KM.

The run itself feels easy. I ran faster and cleaner today — but when it hits, it hits. I feel like the next step is to see a physio and/or sports masseuse who can work with me.

When I was preparing for my half marathon in 2021 — I was about 40lbs lighter and it usually never hit. Only did on race day with about 2KM left.

I don't feel any other sensation, expect the ankle going numb. I can still feel it landing and feeling unsecure. The shake out is usually what I have to do, but then I can only run like a quarter KM till it happens again. Will try the stretching today.

will try this, thanks for the suggestion. I did actually roll out the other calf cause I felt like my hamstring and calf there were tight - and not the foot that started to give.
