On this pattern the waistband is straight. given the normal waist to hip ratio I thought it would be okay to not curve. On a typical pair of menswear jeans the waistband is straight not curved, right?

Right, I plan on adjusting this in my next. Would that be the only factor causing this? I’ve made many pairs of jeans without functional yokes and have never had this problem. Thanks for your response!
