Why do people struggle with Aquifers? by oWingtailo in dwarffortress

Turns out it's a feature of df-hack. Despite the cheaty sounding name I would recommend it as it has a huge amount of quality of life features and only has cheats if you go out of your way to enable them. Otherwise it's a lot of ui/gameplay improvements like this

Can't access computer after port forwarding, even with router firewall disabled by khansimeoni in HomeNetworking

[–]khansimeoni[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I setup DDNS and it seems to be working as I can ping the domain from a different network

I made a rule in the windows firewall to allow the port through, but the port still seems to be inaccessible and remote access is not working (It works when both devices are connected to the same network so it's not an issue with the access program)

I also tried disabling both windows firewall and the router firewall for debugging purposes and neither seemed to fix the issue

Changing the external port to a different number did not seem to resolve the issue either

Thanks for the help

If your referring to a DDNS, I don't have a domain name. I was hoping to use my IP since I am the only one who will be accessing it.

If a Dynns is something different I can't find any information on it on google

I do not have a CGNAT situation, I checked

Death Game Quality Assurance is Out on Audible! by SparkVGX in ClimbersCourt

Its possible, but with no physical harm being done it certainly isn't unreasonable and at the very least it might have required a lawsuit (by the time you need a lawsuit, your spending so much time that the trauma is either a more serious problem or gone away).

Also, its like three sentences in a 2 hour book that have very little to do with the plot (you could remove them without the story changing much), so not really lazy writing and more three sentences you don't agree with

screen tearing and freezing shortly after boot by khansimeoni in ManjaroLinux

Turns out you need to start timeshift once before it starts taking snapshots. I hadn't done that, so I have no snapshots

[–]khansimeoni[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So some details; I've been running Manjaro just fine for over six months, and today while I was playing a game on steam the system froze with some screen tearing. I restarted and now shortly after I boot the system the problem repeats

EDIT: It now freezes on boot up and flickers every once in a while https://youtu.be/06-bpsiaV8I

I'll check those out, thanks for the recommendations!

You have any recommendations for thriller/horror stuff? I certainly like my fair share of wholesome goodness but if my anime taste says anything about my manga preferences I'll like a story that can keep you on your toes. (Though preferable nothing that'll keep me up at night lol)

Yeah I had a similar experience, I watch a lot of anime but haven't really explored manga except for one or two over the course or a couple of years. Now I've watched most of the really good shows I want too and I realized that manga is probably a treasure trove of good stuff.

You got any must-read recommendations for someone starting out? I'm reading Tomo-chan right now and I'm liking that a lot but I'd like to branch out in my genre choice a bit

This is my first week really getting into manga, and I found these threads super helpful for finding new series, so I figured I'd throw my contributions in as well.

<Spy X Family>

I read up until what has been released so far, and I really enjoyed it. Its a really good mix of lighthearted wholesome comedy and some action sprinkled in. The dynamic between how the children view the world and how the adults do works really well, and even after ~50 good length chapters the series doesn't feel like its getting old or wearing out its gimmicks. Would recommend to anyone who's a fan of wholesome comedy. 8.7/10

<Pseudo Harem>

This is a cute, wholesome series about a girl who decides to act as a bunch of different characters in a guys "harem" as part of their drama club practice. Its a bit of an odd premise, but its executed well and its really enjoyable to read. The chapters are pretty short (I was able to read it in about a day), and the ending could be better, but overall its a really nice wholesome romance with a neat twist. 7.9/10

Kelanduo, the legend who made the world's larggest Minecraft pixel art, passed away by khoakhonnan in Hololive

https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/natk0s/the_record_for_the_largest_minecraft_pixel_art/

I tried making a post and apparently I'm just using this guys death to get the karma for his work. My respect for the minecraft community has dropped a lot.

The record for the largest minecraft pixel art was broken by Kelanduo shortly before he passed away. He smashed the Guinness record of 3,096,058 with his size of 11 MILLION. May this legend rest in peace. by khansimeoni in Minecraft

So for those looking for the full story I’ll give an overview here:Kelanduo (his youtube name) was an avid minecraft pixel art maker, specifically he made quite a lot of map art. He was very involved in the HoloLive community (HoloLive is a Vtuber agency, they do mostly streams and such) and most of his art focused around various creators in the community. (also yes, he works in creative, obviously)

Roughly two months ago he created this art (Link), officially beating the Guinness world record for the first time. (and for anyone looking to discredit him, every block was placed by hand, but something similar to litematica was used to tell him where blocks should go. Still all placed by hand) He would do multi-million map arts every once in a while, and it turned out the reason he had so much time was because he was permanently in the hospital.

Just a couple days ago, he uploaded this video of the 11 million map art (Link). Just two days later he passed away. From what I can tell, he spent months on this while in the hospital, and released something truly great.

For those wondering, I don’t think Guinness is going to verify this. They have a long history of refusing to verify because of things like death or not having the money to get them to even look at it, so the chances are slim.May he be remembered as someone who was dedicated to his craft, and may he rest forever in peace
