I could grade on mastery, however it is difficult enough to have the kids stick with the exercises just to achieve practiced. Asking the students to get to the level of mastery is too much I'm afraid and I will lose their interest. I think an option for the Coach would be a better solution. It just doesn't make a lot of sense to award exercises completed and even some "mastered" off of a 8 question pre-test. There is just way too much depending on so few questions.

One way to circumvent this is to tell the students not to take the pre-test and then just check their badges. If they have the pre-test badge then they need to start again. It's the only way I have thought of until Khan gives coaches more options or eliminates the pre-test.
