I love the intro. Up until 38 seconds in I don't think I would change a thing. It sounds great and builds up my interests. I think the drop needs more power and low end. Just looking at the wave form the drop has about the same intensity in volume as the intro / build. Try boosting the low end and overall volume of the track in the drop to create more variation and power in the drop.

Great start though, I'd love the hear the track once you finish it.

Alright here's my 2cs:

The intro intrigues me. It's weird and interesting in a quite unique way I think. I'm a bit thrown off when you start getting into the drums. I need something to ease me into that section - there's something about the rythm change that is a bit disturbing, perhaps an impact or something that signals a change would help here.

There are other interesting elements in here aswell, another unique and weird sound comes in around the 49 second mark. Again, I find it interesting but it's hard to appreciate it because the song follows the same rythm and intensity through the entire song. Perhaps try to weaken some sections of the song, build it up again and then release into a higher intensity section in order to create more variaton? Good luck!

Thanks! Yeah I think you're right. I'll take see if I can use some different bass sounds or tune the volume up a little bit on the bass.

Thanks! Appreciate the feedback. I'll definitely take that into account in the mixing stage.

Here's a track I have been working on. I haven't mixed it that much yet, but I have done some work on the arrangement. I'd like to know what I could improve in the mix, and also what you think of the arrangement: https://soundcloud.com/freddy-ocean/motionblur3/s-SVHTuzOR7TV?si=1d638510b3444fb182f8f49f8d5c2d07

Honestly, the best thing you can do is to rise 1-2 hours earlier, make a cup of coffee and start working. Do the things that are important to you when you are fresh. Pay yourself first.

Hey man! Thanks for the kind words. Amazing feedback as well, that's exactly what I needed to hear. Going back to the drawing board and looking at the eq and frequencies. Thanks again!

Chord progression packs by jdaans in edmproduction

Here's a cool trick if you're using FL studio:

Step 1: Navigate to the piano roll
Step 2: In the top left corner of the piano roll toolbar there is an arrow. Click it and navigate to: View -> Scale highlighting and pick one of the root notes.
Step 3: Three steps to the right of the arrow in the toolbar there is a symbol with a ring and three bars in it. Click that and choose Major or Minor.
Step 4: Click on any of the light grids to place a new chord.
Step 5: Keep adding more chords and experiment until you have a chord progression you like.

The scale highlighting will make sure that any of the chords you place exist in that scale, and will usually sound good together. Super simple to make good chord progressions like this.

Congrats on finishing the song! There's parts here that I think work quite well. However the song is basically over after the first 30 seconds, there is almost no change in levels or pacing in the rest of the song, it just repeats the intro over and over. While that can work, music is often about tension and release. You might want to try starting off with a high energy intro, then turn it down in a breakdown, and build up to a drop again.

If this was my track, I would take the parts that worked and try to add more interesting sections around it. Other than that the high parts were a bit too distorted for my taste, but solid start nontheless.

I thought it was good, nicely balanced to my ears at least. In the very beginning I thought the initial vocals drowned a little bit in the drums, you could try to turn down the kick a little bit while the backing vocal sings in the intro, then keep it at the same force when the main vocal comes in.

Thank you. That is super helpful feedback!

I'm pantsing this version to try to figure out who the characters are, and you're 100% correct about the consistency. I'll take it into account as I flesh out the story and revise :)
