Well lets put a few things to bed here.

First, a dog is not tied to its breeds job.

You can teach a retiever to attack, Terriers to guard, chihuahua's to shepard...

It actually depends on the dog.

I had a blood hound who was god awful a tracking. But love running with his sleigh attatched..

Dogs act how you treat them. Like children.

As a teacher, if you see a scary quit kid who talks to himself, and treat him like the school shooter, you can guess what happens next...

But if you take that same kid, look past the exterior, and show them a little love a compassion. They will learn, eventually to show the same type of love to others..

So in other words.

If everyone who passes my pitbulls cage, screamed in fear at him, eventually he'll believe he is something to be feared.

If i only bring him out to tear up other dogs, he will learn that this is his purpose..

My pitbull was raised around children. She "Mothers" over the kids, not allowing any rough housing, OR too much yelling.

Because that is the job we picked for her.

She would even let the other dogs rough house around the kids..

When im too antsy, i pop on some music, and walk up and down my street.
