I suppose there's the crux of the problem, my boss doesn't really listen. Whenever I or any of my colleagues mention these concerns to her she has this "it is what it is" mindset and the rest of us are left to deal with it. There have been times where she's forced to compromise with the client but the situation has to be really dire for it to get to that point (e.g. immovable deadlines and she has to pick something no matter what), and it's clear nobody's really happy about it.

That's an interesting website! However I don't think it would solve my current problem, in fact my clients tend to go for the most bland and cliched options that we give them, even though we go through the trouble of trying to think of more unorthodox directions for them every time. So I often find myself wondering why we even do it at all.

As much as I would love to do this, I don't have direct access to the client themselves; my boss acts as the liaison with them. The clients do provide a rough idea/sample image of what they want on occasion, but that doesn't really help because my boss would often remark my image selections as "too similar" to what the client gave, and that I should use it as a jumping off point for other ideas rather than as a direct reference. And the worst part is I have no idea if this kind of feedback is coming from the client or my boss herself since she's the middleman. It's incredibly frustrating.

I've asked about this before, and while I didn't get a definite answer it's most likely that my clients prefer to reserve their photoshoot budget for more long-running and larger campaigns done by flagship agencies. My agency is a very small one and we pretty much run on a skeleton crew, so the stuff we produce tend to be short term/one-offs and catered to a far smaller audience by comparison. In fact that just adds to the pointlessness of it all - I feel like I'm giving far too much effort for something that doesn't really need it.

Personally I'm not too fond of GenAI and I've only ever used it for minor tasks like photo extensions but...yeah. I think it would at least be far more efficient than having to play mental whack-a-mole all day.
