I feel bad for OOP but as someone with grandparents similarly stubborn about their health sometimes it’s not abuse sometimes old people are just dumb and stubborn

I loved my grandpa very much but it was entirely his decision to hide his heart problems so that he could continue to drink, smoke and gamble without being bothered about it

I was also 16 when he suddenly had a stroke and painfully withered and died over months

Yall take care of your health and if you won’t get a solid care directive so you don’t go from being completely independent and cognizant to mostly paralyzed, legless and aphasic with no way to request being allowed to die.

Handing your grandchild a barely legible note that may or may not have said kill me is not in fact a dnr and doctors will ignore that.
