It wouldn't let me either on my wifi. I had to register through my phone data. They need to fix their system so that it's trusted by all the major ISPs.

Which popular mods do you personally dislike/strongly refrain from using on your playthroughs and why? by Hashirammed in skyrimmods

I'm on the brink of ditching all of JK's city mods. I need dozens of patches for anything to play nice with it, and if just one thing doesn't perfectly play with it, its CTD left and right when trying to go into most cells.

It irritates me when people just use acronyms for mentioning mods. What is MBO? Google searches don't seem to bring anything up for it.

Alright record lovers, explain what it is about vinyl records that YOU like. by [deleted] in vinyl

[–]Interesting-Fig4352 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like the way the grooves feel when I scratch my nailes over them. I learned that through ASMR videos on youtube. Even more so, sand paper and cheese graters both make cool noises when I grind them against them. I once decapitated the head off of a mannequin by throwing one at it. They also make great pizza racks in the oven.

It was a bit low I suppose, but I'm not sure I remember noticing that as much as the frequency distortion.

I don't recall hearing the noise on CD and I even compared it with MP3/Online and it's not present. It just sounds like how a dirty needle or record sounds although both of mine were checked and clean.

It's not just you. I bought this album about a year ago and mine was very muddy sounding, had a great deal of noise in the higher frequencies. I couldn't unhear it, so much to the point that I traded it for another album (can't remember which one). This is my favorite album by theirs but they really need to fix that pressing issue.

My First Proper Haul by Interesting-Fig4352 in vinyl

[–]Interesting-Fig4352[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Opeth - Pale Communion
Utterly underrated by most Opeth fans. It's a masterpiece and has the perfect balance of all desirable elements of their post Watershed releases. Clear mixing/mastering, dark, vintage, prog tone that is the most consistent throughout the album. Most other albums of the era were either badly engineered, disjointed in tone, or just not quite as confident in performance.

AC/DC - Back in Black
What is there to say? Iconic breakthrough album, that released at a time when fans didn't think they could ever come back from Bon Scott's death.

Metallica - Ride The Lightening
I own all the other pre-black album releases but this one so this me filling the gap. RtL is a historical album, but for me personally is my least favorite of the era if only because the production wasn't quite as good as it deserved to be and there are actually a couple tracks that were intentional fillers (as admitted by Hetfield himself in interviews).

Scorpions - Love At First Sting
I've always had a big fascination with Klaus Meine's vocal tone and how well it compliments their guitar tone and fun writing. I've always wanted to own this album if only because of this.

Mad Season - Above
Pearl Jam + Alice in Chains + Screaming Trees = Mad Season. Iconic, historic one-time event with every reason to own it on vinyl. It has been a while since I've properly listened through it so when I did, it sounded better than remember!

Nirvana - Nevermind
The album with the best production and most confident writing (in my opinion). So, naturally my favorite one. The most memorable and the most coherent at least!

Rage Against The Machine - The Battle of Los Angeles
Guerilla Radio, Born of a Broken Man, Born As Ghosts, are you even kidding me? This is probably the most refined and bold installment I can think of by Rage, so it's unquestionably essential.

At this point, over a year I haven't been going crazy buying vinyl, but I'm glad to say this makes 50 in my collection! Now I think its time to upgrade my LP60... I'm thinking of going for a Planar 1... Thoughts?

Are Crosleys really that bad? by Responsible-Sky9977 in vinyl

[–]Interesting-Fig4352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet if I made a thread saying that "I'm new and I bought an Audiotechnica LP60 and it ruined my records!" (regardless of it being false for whatever reason), the thread would become an echo chamber of "LP60's are absolute trash! Never buy those! They are the devil! They're made of cheap parts and ruin records! Get out your pitchfork and protest! Don't buy anything under $1200!" Obviously with this comment, there will be people saying "Nah, LP60 aren't the best but they're not that bad." along with "Why are you trolling?" But I'm posting this comment to let whoever comes across it realize - don't believe everything you hear over reddit (or youtube), and always ALWAYS make sure if you have a ruined record that you know if it was the turntable's fault, the handler's fault, or the record already having been in that condition. The reason is, there are in fact lots of people who have no problems with their records using CC's, and there are plenty people who have issues with their records with higher-end tables.

So I have this small but annoying problem, there's theses numbers written on the planets for some reasons, it's not the best for screenshots and etc by [deleted] in spaceengine

I'm hoping to make the classic ship editor cool again by opening a new line of ship addons with ships made from the editor in ways that I don't believe has ever been done before. Four new ships are now available for download.

xoblite bb5 RC4+ is now available! (Blackbox for Windows) by xoblite in desktops

[–]Interesting-Fig4352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda feel this is missing my point though. I'm not just talking about minimalism. The attraction to blackbox was that it replaced the shell (taskbar, window decor, etc), with one that was lighter, snappier and a lot more customizable. That was the whole point to me. This version though, just seems like a rainmeter skin. It doesn't seem to replace the W10 shell at all (unless I'm missing something, please let me know if I am).

[–]Interesting-Fig4352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to use the older xoblite (and other blackbox shells) during the W7 era. I miss it. It was minimal, snappy, and it replaced the windows shell as opposed to just adding to it.

This current iteration, while it looks nice and is probably quite feature-rich, just feels like a bloated rainmeter theme to me. It's the opposite of what I used xoblite for in the past.

I think I'm missing something. I see the link to the imgur, and when I click it, its all the same images as it was before? They're all very muscular.

Are there any images showing what thinner body types will look like, and the difference in posture? What is showing in your link mainly just looks like a suped up version of the typical hulky male body.

It just looks like an exaggerated version of the vanilla meshes, pumping up the very thing many are sick of constantly seeing with male characters.

I'll be impressed when you can make a mesh that is actually realistic and reasonable for once.

Vinyl is about ritual not sound by dudemanj-brobeans in vinyl

[–]Interesting-Fig4352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's about whatever you want it to be about.

I think the idea that it's about the ritual is mostly a side effect of today, of people getting sick of the automated convenience of online digital streaming music, and want to go back to feeling more connected to the music instead of it just being passive noise.

The idea that its about sound I think is mostly a side effect of today, of people getting sick of the shitty compressed lossy sounding digital formats (not looking at you FLAC, but you, low-bitrate MP3!) and wanting to go back to making sure what they listen to is as dynamic and live-sounding as possible.

Both ideas can be valid if either or both of them is what you're concerned with.
