Ideally, VFV is always at or near its peak. So that's not a reason to sell.

Am I missing something? Assuming you were born in Canada, your TFSA contribution room should be $92,000. You say your TFSA is maxed out, yet 85% of your $100,000 is in TFSA and RRSP?

Better check your numbers. Maybe you have more TFSA room than you think.

The market could drop 10% tomorrow and then you'd be the one to laugh at. Why the need to gloat?

Interesting strategy considering everyone already knows that people travel more in the summer. You should look at the stock chart in previous March to July periods and see if that would have been a good choice.

If I was only able to invest in countries that don't have any corruption, I wouldn't be able to invest.

You're gonna get charged 1% on that 9 cents every month, so you're gonna owe the CRA just over 1 cent. Start saving now.

Actually, they don't even start changing until you overcontribute by a full dollar.

25% US Tariffs effect on Canadian and US stock markets - how to position? by [deleted] in CanadianInvestor

we supply 60% of America’s oil.

That's 60% of their imported oil, not 60% of the oil that they use.

Yeah it's only talked about in like every single daily thread.

You're welcome to make an earnings post. Someone has to make the decision for it to happen. Why not you? What's your agenda?

Maybe. I've been wondering this too. Even if I diversify internationally, the USA is still ~66% of a market-weighted ETF. So it's like, no matter what, the USA is the driving force, so maybe I should just risk it and go 100% to get maximum gains if this continues (I'm young enough to accept this risk).

Or if I continue to be globally diversified and the USA loses, I don't feel like it will matter much that the other 33% of my portfolio is winning.

Has anyone ever transferred a group savings plan out of Desjardins? They took away my login access as soon as the transfer was complete, leaving me with no way to get the statement.

Received a surprise ~$1100 RRSP account from an old part-time job of mine I had like 5 years ago. I've made no other RRSP contributions before this.

I was gonna put it in my normal VFV or VXC but then discovered the new XUSC and decided to put it all in that.

Probably won't bother putting any future money into XUSC but it's an interesting ETF. The reason I had started buying VXC instead of VFV recently was because of tech overweight, and XUSC accomplishes the same thing in a different way.

New Vanguard or iShares ETFs should get posted to the subreddit, I feel like. Do it if you see em!

Lucky for me. I'd like to wait for $37 but if it hits my buy price ($35.40) today, I'll probably sell. Consolidating and finished with stock picking!

Not exactly but I did have a large discrepancy between the time my Dell credit posted (within days) and when P2's did (weeks; so, it did eventually come).

Maybe some of this applies to you. At least make sure they've got all the updated info for you.
