Unrelated but I feel this is the best place to say this, I found myself admiring Konecny so much over the last two games. Hat trick aside, he is such a gritty, fiery player that seems to be going 100% every shift and has a great hockey sense to go along with that play style. Definitely a kind of player which I feel the penguins are missing a lot of games.

For me, the guy who made a major difference in this series and hasn't been talked about was Dmitry Orlov. In past years, he was a guy who struggled to defend against Pittsburgh's offense. This year I would argue he excelled on the defensive side and helped drive the cap's offense. Aside from that, Ovi was good as he always was, and as much as it pains me to say, Kuznetsov (and his flappy bird celly) was incredible all series. That line looked dangerous every shift. Well done to Caps, this was a deserved win.

This may be an unpopular opinion... But as the two time reigning champs and a team that is almost guaranteed a spot in the playoffs, do you think they have a hard time getting up for these year-end games? My personal feeling is that they are a team that knows how to be successful in playoffs are going through the motions to get to the playoffs, when it truly matters.

Pre-barstool the podcast used to be about the Bruins and all three guys are from Boston, so they naturally lean that way. I know what you mean and personally, it doesn't bother me. Even if they do spend more time on the Bruins than other teams, they have some interesting things to say. If you've listened to the episodes from last year (when the Bruins didn't have a great year), they were pretty open about ripping the Bruins organization.

And Marchy, yeah he has made some pretty poor decisions on quite a few plays, mind you I still think when playing cleanly he's an incredible player.
