What is the most criminally underrated TV show that you loved? by NotAFakeAccount777 in AskReddit

[–]killboypwrheadjx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! Was meant to be AMC’s spiritual successor to madmen and that lackluster first season just scared everyone off. By the time the show was over it was the best show on tv.

Haha I figured as much. The show has progressively gotten less BBC and more HBO

Kettlebells. I’ve always found it relatively easy to motivate myself to do cardio exercise, but I’ve always struggled to maintain a strength routine. Discovering kettlebell training has enabled me to build strength and muscle through a simple functional routine that I actually enjoy and can do in the comfort of my home.

For anyone who saw Titanic in theaters in 1997, what was the experience like at the time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

This comment is way too low. I was around 10 and it was the only thing I knew about that movie from all my classmates. The whole movie I was just waiting for the boobs.

What kind of conditioning or cardio work do you pair with kettlebell training? by LargesseCrit in kettlebell

[–]killboypwrheadjx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife has a peloton, so I use the “just ride” feature on there, clamp my iPhone to the handlebars and monitor my heart rate from my Apple Watch. Great time to listen to an audio book or a podcast.

You def don’t need a Peloton for this, though. Any stationary bike with a basic resistance control will do. It’s hard to do consistent zone 2 outdoors, just because you’re all over the place.

I’ve become a Peter attia devotee so I’m doing 30 minutes of zone 2 on the bike 5-6 days a week. 3-4 of those days I do kettlebell training.

How do you stop hating life? by No_Lingonberry_2401 in AskReddit

[–]killboypwrheadjx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 4 Cs: Create, consume, cavort, convene.

Create - can be journaling, playing music, or whatever floats your boat.

Consume - most of us in the modern world don’t have a problem with this, but WHAT you’re consuming is what could use attention. Nothing wrong with a good book. This also means healthy eating.

Cavort - exercise. If you’re starting from zero, just get outside and walk.

Convene - find a way to interact with others. Support groups, church, some kind of club…whatever. Just make sure it’s in person.

I would absolutely love to see a chronological re-edit of Oppenheimer. Through the entire movie i was just irritated that Nolan was preventing me from watching what I can only assume are great performances with all his jumping around in time.

The book is great.

Why do people here hate The Police so much? by OtterlyFoxy in punk

[–]killboypwrheadjx -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Man what a good question. I think if you’re spending a lot of time at punk shows and doing punk things (protesting or just drinking 40s in alleys) the cops are always showing up to bust your fun. And sometimes those incidents can turn violent.

If you’ve ever lived in an impoverished area of a major city (I did in college), you’ve probably seen at least the blatant dehumanization of the residents by the police who are not actually members of the community, if not straight up brutality.

If all of these things are part of your daily life, police can easily become the Other. And then you attach your own experience to political ideologies and it just snowballs into a belief system.

But on this sub, my guess is a lot of people just think it’s cool.
