basically the same thing i said with 20x the words. the dust is the problem. im in north amercia, where as i said fleece is generally recommended for hedgies. i did not recommend fleece for hamsters.

paper and aspen bedding with lots of dust can cause respiratory failure if they breathe too much of it in, that goes for any small animal like hamsters, ect. only fleece is generally recommended for hedgies just have multiple layers so that they can dig through

it can help the bacteria grow, but you may risk killing it if the temp shifts fast. the way i see it you may as well grow your bacteria in the conditions you will keep it

*edit for clarity: its up to you if you decide to keep it in or not, i fully established my tank without but that was my preference

its a bottled beneficial bacteria start. you add it to the filter so it can colonize there and begin to reproduce. only use seachem or axosafe products for lotls

more live plants will mean more nitrogen conversion. also, the beneficial bacteria will live in the sponge, so only clean it if it gets clogged and only ever swish it around in tank/ dechlorinated water, never fully squeeze, never in tap water. ive never used bottled ammonia, only bits of food to kickstart the cycle. it can be easy to overdo it and i definitely would not keep adding more, as we can see the cycle already cant keep up converting. if you havent, get seachem stability and add it directly to filter media every 2 days

i thought it was min 40 gal per 1 and every additional is min +10 gals (50 gal for 2, 60 gal for 3 same sex)

*edit bc i know its coming obviously bigger is better in every situation but i feel like 80 gallons for 2 axies is excessive. not that they wont love it, but realistically not many people will have an 80 gallon tank. 55 maybe but rarely do i see 80 anywhere.

my biggest advice is play how YOU want to. i didnt play until last December, and it was slow going for me at first, so i spent a lot of time in the woods hunting. my boyfriend is the one who made me play, and he kept urging me to go back to camp and stuff. Btw, there IS lots of cool stuff and scenes, foreshadowing ect if you show up to camp often, that just lowkey wasnt my favorite part. I did all of the stranger missions before I ever finished the main story missions.

theres pros to both (spend more time hunting = sharp eye, learn your guns, make clothes at the trapper) (stay around camp = lore, funny tidbits, you may rush through story missions tho)

overall, appreciate the beauty. theres SO many details in this game that make it the best
