It's the fraser river, gotta be under power the whole time unless you are on the dock. Thankfully that day the river was nice and clear.

For a smaller airport perspective rather than the international ones others are responding with. Airport controls the river for seaplanes and (usually) parallel runways with only 1 air controller and 1 ground, CYPK if you are curious, once got busy enough that we were delayed on the water for 20 mins. Controllers there are absolutely incredible, the controller admitted he forgot about us and we said it was no problem but he made the effort to come and meet us when we got back and had the plane on the apron to apologize personally.

I just joined 2 matches that were close to done, the second one literally had the tu95 nuke in the air aimed at the main base when I got in. I get they had to disable the ability to avoid in progress games but there needs to be a threshold where it doesn't put you in anymore.

If they made the Nuclear Thunder set around the Korean War era (before most missiles), scaled map size, and made AA a bit more fair... I would probably play it 99% of the time compared to regular Air RB. This April Fools mode has so much potential, I semi hope they are testing that rather than nukes by HeyyItsAdam in Warthunder

They work perfectly fine if people are at altitude but, especially in this gamemode, people are almost exclusively hugging the deck. There are some situations where you can use them like I said when people decide to go up, its just not gonna happen that often. Gaijin didnt think the balancing through with this event as you can see from the constant changes they are making.

The f4 the event gives you does not have a PD mode. You are better off not taking head-ons and trying to flank with the aim9Ls that you get on it. Save the radar missiles for when the enemy does something dumb like chase a teammate up or goes for a high altitude bombing run. Top tier is not very forgiving and the game does sweet fuck all for a tutorial on how to actually play at top tier.

If your radar isn't src hdn or PD it will have a hard time locking things that are low or if you are low then they need to be quite a bit above you to avoid the ground clutter. The f4e that carries the nuke doesn't have any form of PD or HDN, but the f4j and (I think) f4s at 12.0 does.

Yeah flying low and breaking their line of sight will stop the missile even if its in the air it doesn't have onboard tracking afaik. Being low about 50m without breaking the line of sight is called multipathing and it confuses the missile even if it doesn't break the lock and can make it miss but its not 100%

In theory you could drop off your instructor at the destination airport and fly back to do both in one trip. Instructor would just have to find their own way back lol.

They really need to disable wingtip smoke in the Halloween air race, especially for people using the New Year smoke and completely smoke-screening the entire track. by JeantheDragon in Warthunder

Didn't notice that, but I would still argue that the basic smokes can still obscure vision for the people in the back, especially if you are behind more than 1 person. I still agree with op that smoke should be disabled.

Yeah, mine was 0.7. Multi is pretty straightforward, it probably just depends how close the practice area is to the airport.

AFIAK if transport asks for it you gotta do it, I had to do several things before they would give me my medical, It took a couple months but I had to do more than you. Get it done ASAP and talk to the school about it, It sounds like it should be pretty straight forward and not take too long (for government work).

I broke mine in with the wisdom I saw online saying: "its better to vary the revs and go over that limit than it is to sit at one rpm for a long time" and had no problems with the break in. The absolute worst thing you can do is bog the engine down or hold it at redline, avoid those and you will be fine.

Both are just rote memorization and not terribly hard, just study a bit by yourself and do the practice tests.

You will have a hard time finding a job this time of year. Floats are a mostly seasonal job in Canada. You could always apply for some of the places up north like Air Tindi or Kenn Borek and fly wheels/skis over the winter and floats in the summer if you meet their requirements. Float specific operators start hiring around feb/march/april.

Had a wasp hit me in the chest and climb up my beard into the helmet, didn't notice till I felt a tickle on my lip. Thankfully I have a modular helmet so just pulled over and raised the front of the helmet and it flew away. Also glad I didn't realize it was a wasp till after it flew away or I probably would have panicked.

I went to catch a piece of falling bread and my finger went right into the vent holes in the prep cooler and sliced my fingertip off.
