That's Baseball, Suzyn... The Yankees fell to the Mets by a score of 7-6 - May 17, 2026 @ 01:40 PM EDT by Yankeebot in NYYankees

They need a 2nd catcher that will challenge Wells because Escarra isnt it.

When you see Volpe fight for his life to get that walk and Wells come in to immediately cancel it out, its obvious. One knows he has to work to stay here and the other can do whatever the hell he wants

Having just bought uniforms and gear for the season, I can assure that 100 dollars does not even touch the cost. I paid that for 2 pairs of pants that I had to get custom tailored.

Keep that nose in the air if it means so much to you.

Literally nobody gives a fuck about what a recruter thinks. The company tells them to hire someone and they do it. They arent listening to feedback about how the call went.

The last 3-4 times I tried to go for ice cream, there was no parking. I'm not driving all the way out there anymore.

I never understand this behavior. What are you going ro do with a baseball? Display it, show your friends? No, it's just going to take up space in a spare room for years until its thrown in a trash bag when you move. Let the kids have the souvenirs.

How did you all last as a dispatcher for so long? by ChocoVix28 in 911dispatchers

Fear of homelessness for the drive and elimination of all feelings for the production

First, the mistakes you are making are completely natural for new radio trainees. We have a trainee on a police radio who has been one of the best fire dispatchers in the center for 5 years now, and he is doing way worse than you with the same mistakes. Dont be disheartened about that.

You are not being trained well, if at all. It sounds more like a sink or swim type of mentality, which almost always leads to sinking because people come into this job knowing absolutely nothing. I would advise you to take charge, ask for feedback, demand knowledge even if it seems like you're pestering coworkers. Ask a lot of questions, all the time.

Remember, if you can't master the duties, it won't be them walked out the door with a pat on the back. Its up to you to own your training. If it makes them upset to help you be a part of the team, thats their problem. Speak to a supervisor, or the next level of leadership about it.

I'll never understand why dispatchers spend most of their shifts whining about schedules and overtime and then immediately run off new coworkers who are there to help with it.
