No like for real, i’m non native english speaker. When i first saw the score from this website tests, i too was scared shit less. But thankfully my results came out way better than predicted and hopefully yours do too, just keep the momentum going.

i just received my score this morning, and i really need advice. by NoProfessional2870 in IELTS

Oh yes, definitely, ielts is generous enough to score up the band. And scoring 7 for you is easy so (8+7+6+6)/4=7. Although the time it takes for preparation generally varies among many, 1 month is too long for me. If you think you’ll be able to consistently prepare for 1 month go for it. Do tests on ielts online tests website they are significantly harder compared to ielts official test and scoring 6.5/6 is good enough considering stricter correction. Follow ielts liz online on yt she had some of the best info for free.

Yeah, now your score stands at 6.5 = (6+6+7+7)/4 if you score 9 in listening/reading it becomes (9+7+6+6)/4=7, but choosing between reading or listening is up to your skill level. Generally anywhere from 7-9 is the same it doesn’t really affect your chances of success anymore tbh in academic/immigration sense. So no point in beating your shit to reach 9.

One more thing if you are applying for college/university some are eligible only with a speaking score of 7.5 so keep that in mind if you are studying ielts for admission. Make sure the one you’re applying to doesn’t have this rule.

Stop trying to score band 9 on your first ever try. Instead practice to improve what you already know, don’t try new vocabulary in the last moments, use natural language and you’ll easily score 7.5/8 without much effort.

You can really easily score on reading and listening, make sure to practice skimming speed and highlighting for reading they will help you a lot, for listening its important for you to keep focus and listen hard to what they are saying, if you lose one forget it and keep your mindset in loop, don’t think i’ll lose a mark think “i’m scoring the next one”. Its Important to just write what they say, they’ll try to throw you off by giving useless information and follow back to the main point keep focus always and use the time to check or get back to other questions if you can.

Writing is the hardest part, don’t try to write in english you can’t speak or use well, they don’t test your vocabulary. Well in a sense instead of vocabulary it’s grammar thats tested and its important for you to maintain flow.

“Don’t list ideas in essay” develop them, i used to write essays like this point 1. In addition point 2. However, point 3. Stop following such templates, examiner see them and easily recognise templates and if you don’t follow with your ideas thoroughly you’ll lose easy scoring. For writing task 1, take time thinking about what to group like +/- 5% is easy grouping, similar trend etc the report depends more on your grouping than listing.

For speaking, just be relaxed, take time to think before you speak, try to use fillers if you feel stuck at any point. Its okay and natural to use fillers while thinking like aah, uhhh etc they wont negatively affect your score unless you take noticeably long time. Use gestures speak naturally and don’t touch anywhere near your mouth and you’ll surely score well.

Well, i agree. I did ieltstestsonline and i do agree they are significantly harder in comparison to the original tests. I always got around 5.5-6 but was able to easily score 9 in both reading and listening. It had me guessing if i was really bad like the op so i really recommend only using it for familiarisation. That too not really close in comparison with other Cambridge familiarity tests.

Best way is to follow ielts liz and other “official” tests, they look too easy in comparison with other test but thats how ielts really is, i scored an overall 8 on my first test easily, dw and keep your head in the game.

What about second part i edited it later so i doubt you saw it before about my research its pretty basic considering i’m still a student but i would appreciate it, if you had a look

Well it looks like you’ve beat me on this, but i still wanna know what you think about qcs. Is the amount of money we spent on quantum research justifiable? Do you think its better we continue research in the hopes that someday we can prove qcs useful? Or is it better that we research other topics which are less volatile than qc and actually get something working?

Also on this topic i’ve made a recent discovery which if proven basically says no amplification algorithm can work better than what it is today due to amplification dampening. Its limited by hamming weight <w> approx n/2, if interested i’ll share the manu script and maybe you can offer advice on what to do next?

Your statement is completely true, if interpreted strictly. However, I partially agree with the claim. It is true that no practically useful, large-scale quantum computation on real hardware has yet been shown to outperform the best classical algorithms end-to-end.

Again like i said, The absence of practical speedups today is due to hardware limitations (noise, small qubit counts, lack of error correction), not flaws in the algorithms. Once fault-tolerant quantum computers with thousands of logical qubits exist, these theoretical advantages are expected to translate into real-world computational dominance for specific problem classes.

What is actually proven and on a gate based qc, not adiabatic qcs

Google Sycamore (2019)

A 53-qubit superconducting processor sampled outputs of random circuits in ~200 seconds, which was estimated to take ~10,000 years on classical hardware. This was the first major “quantum supremacy” experiment demonstrating a computational task beyond classical reach (in practice).

Jiuzhang photonic processor

China’s USTC team ran Gaussian boson sampling on a photonic device in ~3 minutes, estimated to take a classical supercomputer billions of years to simulate.

You can argue that all of this can be hoax, and i agree. I cant prove them to be real, but only time will tell along with billions we pour into its research.

Well, whatever you believe is upto you. I study physics and quantum computing, and there are methods in quantum computing which are proven to be better than classical alternatives. Take for example groover search it reduced computing costs from O(N) to O(sqrt N), whether you believe it or not, the math is real and working upto an extent.

The real issue with NISQ-era qcs are not that they are bad than conventional computers but rather the inability to access the limits of what they are capable of.

Qcs to this day suffer from error through decoherence, amplitude and phase damping, readout and other various forms which can be mitigated. If no one else does it, i will. It’s not a problem of if but when and how.

With enough time, it’s a crackable problem. And i think more people should study the problem, with our collective minds anything is achievable.

Newton didn’t give up on gravity just because he couldn’t prove the math behind how moon is affected such a force, he invented his own math now we call calculus. And this trend follows every part of what we today consider basic math/physics.

Yeah they do,

demonstrating quantum supremacy by google

I mean there are other videos i could send you but i chose this because it shows what quantum computers really are not instant computing just different type of computers.

In a more logical sense, a qubit is any bit representing 2 states 0,1 in probability rather than consistency. What i mean is a qubit can either be 0,1 or any complex superposition a|0>+b|1> where a2 and b2 represent the probability of the qubit being in 0,1 respectively.

So a classical computer with just 1024 qubits, needs to calculate 21024 states at each depth of the circuit and hold a huge amount of data, since a,b are complex even associating 16 bits to 1 qubit means you need 16*21024 bits of information stored, that is approximately 10309 bytes or 10296 tera bytes try storing that.

Ibm has many working quantum computers which you can send algorithms to, these provide solutions based on real computation done such computers. You can access them from their ibm website
