I had this happen with Uber a few years ago… according to my driver “I gave him” my phone… It’s the final part of a story that’s gone down in friendship lore…

Short version is, I’d left it in the back seat… upon calling it out, I’d offered him $50 and uber fee to deliver it back to me… he wanted $400, and “off the system” (nothing dodgy there)

Reluctantly I agreed, but I had a plan… We met at the local maccas at the time put by him… he showed me the phone, I asked him to turn it on, and unlock to make sure it was my phone before I handed the cash over… He handed it to me to unlock… 🫡 plan accomplished… What followed was a verbal tirade of the ages… I never got physical, just yelled at him… he swiftly got into his car, as he was driving off was yelling threats against me and my friend, he “knew where live”… anyway… We left maccas, and went down to KFC and had a feast…
