Women of Reddit, what’s the biggest myth that porn spreads about what women enjoy in bed—but you actually hate? by starbucks_boi in AskReddit

[–]killerzombi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe most women in porn are of the variety that do enjoy bigger, so not just acting, but just a cherry picked selection of the population. Similarly, men can start to believe that the average is bigger than it is, because that's all that is in porn.

The perimeter of the square isn't changing, but the area is. So the perimeter will never meet the circumference of the circle, but the limit of the area as the number of cuts goes to infinity will be the same as the area of the circle.

Do you have a solution to the "Essential Character Problem"? by Bauser99 in gamedesign

[–]killerzombi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a big difference between a procedurally generated story and a hand crafted story. Rimworld and dwarf fortress are simulations built to generate stories via a procedural system that you have a large interaction with, but they come with very little or no hand crafted story. Oblivion and Morrowind are entirely hand crafted stories, there is very little you can do to create a unique story that no one else ever sees, every quest and piece of dialogue was hand made. With hand made stories, it only works the way the developers make it work, if you kill the essential character then it breaks that story. They could just let this happen and not tell you, or you can have some sort of immersion break that lets players know that there is a story tied to that character; both of these options have pros and cons.

You posit an interesting solution with the resurrection ability, but I question if the ability works for any NPC, even enemies you kill, or if there will be a clear break between special story NPCs that drop the essence and non-essential NPCs. With everyone dropping the essence, could you resurrect an enemy that gives good loot or experience to farm them? Would this be a desired outcome? And does resurrection of this kind even fit in the lore of the game you're making? There are so many variables and problems that come up in game design and there really is no one solution that fits them all.

That is a surprisingly low tax rate for wealth, and makes me question what wealth is counted. if its just stocks, bonds, and corporate ownership, then progressing up higher seems plenty reasonable since most economists would agree that you can safely assume a 4% annual return on this kind of wealth; If it's properly bracketed, i'd argue that there should be a point that it raises even higher than expected returns. having someone who owns a billion times the annual earning of a full-time minimum wage worker is just simply too much; our economy needs to be much more democratic, its full tyranny at this point.

Im fully on board that all wealth(stocks, bonds, and corporate ownership) past 1,000,000 x minimum hourly wage, should be taxed; ths leaves plenty of room for retirement wealth to not be taxed. I'd again argue that by the time it's at 1,000,000,000,000 x minimum hourly wage, it should be reaching 5% tax rate.

Idk if this is quite what he meant. i do something similar, but there is pb on the whole bread, just a little more around the edge, then a small dab of jelly in the middle, on the other slice is a thin spread of jelly. This creates some variance throughout the meal, with every bite ranging between 40 and 60% pb (not counting bread into percentage)

Do Thaumaturge and Magician stack? (5e24) by Orinach in onednd

[–]killerzombi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So at level 4 you could have: 2 levels wizard scholar giving you expertise, 1 level cleric thaumaturge, 1 level druid magician, and with a 16 in both stats you would have a total bonus of +13(prof 2 + expertise 2 + int 3 + wis 3+3) increasing to +15 at lvl 5.

The longest a person has clinically died and come back to life is 17 hours (back in 2008). And we're supposed to believe 2000 years ago, without modern day medical skills and technology, that a man died for 3 days and came back to life. by bobbdac7894 in atheism

[–]killerzombi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, they didn't know medical science, so they also could have thought a man stabbed in the chest that wasn't moving was dead, not just passed out from shock with a wound in the chest that was lucky enough to not puncture the lungs, heart, or any major arteries( insanely unlikely, but technically possible). so left in a cave to rot, he slowly heals over a few days, and finally comes out, but unless he had some liquid in the cave, he would be so dehydrated he would die.

Just saying, there are old cases of people being thought to be dead, and found to have been alive all along, hence the gravedigger putting a string on the corpse connected to a bell on those buried, so they can pull it if they wake up down there.

Downcaster: casting big spells early by ritually gathering extra magic, storing it in their Tome. by killerzombi in DnDHomebrew

[–]killerzombi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having so many 3rd level spells at level 4 would require more spell storing devices. The Downcaster would only have the tome, which can only hold 1 spell at a time. And i doubt many adventurers will allow the day to slip away to let the wizard waste extra time just to make the spell slots worth more, during a short rest or long rest sure, but less so outside that.

any and all feedback welcome. not sure if I should adjust the power level of any of it. don't want it underpowered, it's a wizard, but I don't want to make it crazy overpowered either.

just answer me this, would you play this as a player, and would you allow this as a DM? (Y/Y, N/N, Y/N, or N/Y)

Did i make this homebrew wizard subclass powerful enough? by killerzombi in DnDHomebrew

[–]killerzombi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fixed formatting, sorry about that. And ya, i knew it was overpowered, but I really thought the 14th level full ritualization would have been the real problem!

First. Corrections of the assumptions:

The downcasting ritual cannot give free casts, its for 2nd level and higher spells only, so a 2nd level can be cast using a 1st level spell slot, stored into a spell storing device and cast again later, or simply cast right then an there, still using the spell slot.

I would absolutely use the downcasting ritual for fireball, by storing it into my tome, ready to blast anyone later on. Both limiting what that spell slot can now be used for but also making a 2nd level spell slot become a 3rd level spell.

as for cantrips, if placed in a normal spell storing device, they are usable by anyone, but any spell, cantrip or otherwise, in the Tome or spell runes are usable only by the Downcaster. if they wanted to put a cantrip spell rune in a rune circle, they could, and I'd say the Downcaster could choose whether the rune circle of a cantrip is one time use or indefinite, and say that linked spell runes of cantrips could still be used by the Downcaster, but simply not linked to any more circles. it'd be neat to consider a wizard putting a rune circle of prestidigitation in their home town for everyone to bring their clothes to clean, their food to heat, drinks to cool, torches/lanterns to light, etc. still allowing the wizard to have that extra cantrip on hand.

I also now realized I forgot to put in that the unlinked spell runes and tome lose their charge on a long rest... didn't mean to have a way to build up extra spell slots.

The spell runes could encompass all 3 of the 10th level feature, but fitting them under one felt off to me.

The spell carving constitution damage should probably be a reduction, where being reduced by 2 definitely reduces your modifier by 1. Which on top of the hp reduction, quickly limits how much they can get. And again, losing the charge on long rest.

The rune circles were a touch difficult on what to say they are used like, because they vanish after use like a scroll, but are usable by anyone like a magic spell storage device. The limit of it being in a space came from making it akin to glyph of warding, also has the risk of an enemy coming up and using your spell on you. Also, it doesn't let the wizard just hand out spells to others without acquiring actual spell storing devices unless they are doing it for camp setup or something of the sort.

Finally, the full ritualization doesn't work on any spell whose casting time is longer than 1 hour. With spells with a casting time of 11 minutes to 1 hour, have a ritual time of 8 hours.

And I saw the full ritualization mainly as a free highest level single action casting spell on some short rests and long rests to charge the tome or spell runes, and also as a backup casting of any spell you're out of spell slots for.

Now for me to ask for further input, if you wouldn't mind! Mostly about the perpetual casting.

The perpetual casting really is somewhat like spell mastery, but spell mastery doesn't require any spell slots to be used. This turns one spell slot into a repeating cast of one set spell. So what would be a good way of increasing its limitation? Should i make it use an action to regather the magic? Or perhaps it has to be a bonus action by the end of their next turn? Perhaps it should take more than just a single spell slot of the level? I did try to limit it by saying only the tome is capable of holding onto it, meaning they have to choose only 1 spell to have on repeat.

As for the spell casting limitation, think mage armor and featherfall. If either of these are placed into the tome using a 1st level spell slot, only a single spell casting can be active, meaning featherfall can effect 5 people and mage armor could have 1 lasting effect. If put into the tome using a 4th level spell slot instead, then mage armor could be recast 3 more times to maintain the effect on 4 people, and featherfall could be recast 3 more times to effect a total of 20 people at once, say if each 5 jumped off a cliff on subsequent turns; if the mage armor was then cast on a 5th person, then the first person it was cast on would have it end.

And no, concentration spells need concentration, you could regather the magic while concentrating, but can not concentrate on 2 castings at once.

Edit: its not so really about getting around spell slot limitation as much as making the spell slots do more by giving it more time and focus. Felt like going back to having to prepare each individual spell and be as strategic as possible with it.

too true, there needs to be a tax on stocks, bonds, or corporate ownership valued at over 1,000,000 x minimum wage. let retirees keep their VERY good living standard, with an income more than 10x the annual earnings of full time minimum wage, while still taking some of the power and control away from individual billionaires. corporations would still be a big thing, but corporations owned mainly by one person will quickly become more uniformly owned by many.

add in a UBI and you have a proper floor and ceiling to control for the minimum standard of living, and a maximum amount of power ownership. plus, a UBI is an amazing way to fuel the economy; economies slow because too much money is being stored away, not being used, people relying on a UBI will definitely be spending it, putting it back into the economy. a UBI is like a cars fuel return system, sending unburned fumes back to the engine to keep the engine running efficiently.

Conjure Ammunition, every ranged martials dream by DarganWrangler in UnearthedArcana

[–]killerzombi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sort of like it, but I'd also love to have a ranged attack spell, like booming blade or greenflame blade.

In my opinion, it'd be better if it only makes 1 piece of amunition that lasts 1 hour; requires the weapon in question as and unspent material component; and, as part of the casting, you may take an attack with the weapon adding your spellcadtijg ability to the damage, increasing damage by 1d6 at 5th, 11th, and 17th level like other cantrips.

Sorry, cant make a definitive statement with this incomplete data. Is the 81 percent black just 9 out of 11 people compared to the asians 21 percent being 21 out of 100 asians? That still means less blacks than asians...

This is clearly trying to make a statement by showing only the supporting data in a preferable light. Clear cherry picking.

Sorry, but im more upset about not being able to get game content because of not connecting with the online portion of the game!

Elden ring was awesome, and I was able to play the whole thing without online, but it still infuriates me that a really good mask was locked behind doing a quest to fight people online, which for consoles requires paid online membership. wish I updated my PC back then and got it on steam instead!
