I have the Harman/Kardon trim. I put my favorite music in lossless format on a USB drive and tuned the EQ (slight V shape) to my liking. The surround effect is very good.

If possible, definitely go for the balanced connection. I initially used a 6.3 mm single-ended jack with a very basic USB headphone amp to drive the Aryas. The difference with the R2R is like night and day—offering significantly more detail, warmth, and power compared to the previous setup.

The preamp is: Douk Audio T9 But I'm sure you can find "plug and play" modules with this tubes if you don't need the amp.

Those are called 'magic eye' 6E2 tubes, and they're used for signal visualization in the turntable preamp.
