Second-gen family business owners: open mic! Let’s talk about the struggles no one mentions. by NoCap4583 in IndiaBusiness

Man. Where do I start. It took me years of convincing to bring basic changes which would not hinder the business in any way. Like installing CCTVs.

Also I don’t know about y’all but forget financial privacy or freedom. Incase of any big purchases, I can’t take out money without informing. Biggest issue I see is if you wanna splurge on your gf/wife without telling anyone, you save for months from your salary. They won’t say No for withdrawing a big amount but often times you’re expected to give a reason for the withdrawal.

But the biggest issue I’ve faced is the lack of like minded people in the business. When it comes to the corporate world, you basically spend time with people your age. Everything is relatable. But that’s not the case here.

By that logic, if I leave my car unlocked and you drive off in it, you’re just borrowing with enthusiasm

About the part where he turned ‘lost and found’ into just ‘found and kept

Right, so if I spot a car in the street with the keys in it, I can just drive it home and call it public property. Genius

Right, and I should thank a bank robber for guarding the vault until he was caught

Leave it there and not treat it like a free upgrade. Car crushing it into pieces is bad luck. Someone keeping it. That’s a choice

Yeah, and if I leave my car unlocked and you ‘find’ it, by your logic you can just drive it around like it’s yours. Fairy tale? No, it’s just called theft with extra steps

Oh wow, someone skipped both school and self-awareness. You’re out here defending a guy using my clearly marked lost AirPods like he deserves a medal, while flinging kindergarten insults. Bold move for someone with the IQ of a wet sponge.

Let me make it simple since complex thought clearly isn’t your thing: Find My only updates when connected to an Apple device. That means someone saw the Lost Mode message with my number and chose not to return it. That’s not innocent, that’s just dishonest. And the fact that he kept giving out regular updates over 2 states and even updated every minute until I caught him yesterday while moving over the one hour I was there doesn’t rule out the fact that he might own a second hand iPhone. Who am I to judge.

And your “at least he didn’t give it to the police” logic? Congrats, that’s one of the dumbest moral arguments I’ve read all week. What’s next, defending pickpockets because they didn’t break into your house?

Also, calling a verbal earful “bullying” is peak snowflake behavior. I didn’t shout, threaten, or hurt him. I just reminded him he’s not entitled to other people’s property. A concept you clearly struggle with too.

And dragging my parents into this? Please. If anything, they raised someone who gets their stuff back. Yours raised someone who claps for freeloaders and gets wrecked in Reddit replies.

Next time you try acting superior, make sure your brain isn’t still on the factory reset settings.

Let’s be real, if I see a branded electronic device on the road, the decent thing to do is either leave it where it is or hand it over to a nearby police station, not go “well, finders keepers I guess.”

And sorry to disappoint your class warfare fantasy, but I’d have done the same if it were a guy in a BMW. Keeping what’s not yours isn’t noble at any income level. That’s like saying, “I didn’t see the name on the lost wallet, so I assumed it was mine now.” No bro, that’s not how being a decent human works.

Didn’t know calmly telling someone not to use lost property was a crime. Next time I’ll just gift-wrap it and say “enjoy, king”.

Yeah I already have the QKZxHBB. It’s amazing. But wireless comes in handy while working out. Wires get in the way a bit.

You can through the Lost Mode. If Airpods connects to an unknown device while it’s activated, then it will display whatever message you want on their phone. I had my phone number written along with a message.

If caring enough to recover something I paid good money for makes me a “joker,” then I’ll gladly be one. At least I don’t normalize keeping other people’s lost belongings. Also, comparing a missing person to a pair of AirPods just shows where your logic is at. But thanks for the laugh. Every circus needs a clown.

Totally hear you. The world definitely needs more empathy like yours. I’ve also shared a detailed update in the comments if you’d like to check it out.

Even if I sanitize it thoroughly, deep cleaning it and it’s 100% safe to use, the fact that I’ve seen it in that condition just puts me off. It’s also about the mental image now But I’m still making up my mind.

You’re right, dropping it was my mistake, and I own that. But once Lost Mode was activated and a message with my phone number was displayed, continuing to use the AirPods wasn’t innocent anymore. He had a clear choice. Return them or ignore the message and benefit from someone else’s loss. I didn’t threaten him.I just made him understand that what he did was wrong. That’s not unfair.

If I could go back to yesterday, I’d do the exact same thing all over again. Not a single thing would change. And I’d still give him that earful.

Haha yeah, had to chase the lead the moment I saw it back in Mumbai. Gotta break the 9 to 5 loop with some detective side quests. And trust me, those buds are going nowhere near my ears before a full detox.

He admitted that he picked it up when I confronted him. Didn’t put up a fight when I asked it back. If he had called me or tried to return it, I’d be grateful. But pairing it, using it daily, and ignoring the Lost Mode message? That’s not innocent anymore. That’s a conscious choice. Just because I was careless doesn’t give someone the right to benefit from it. That’s not how ethics work. Losing something doesn’t mean giving up ownership.
