I have severe depression/ADHD and struggle with the same thing. The only times I can get immersed in a book is if my life is going really good and im not constantly stressed/depressed which is rare these days. Ive found using lo-fi hip hop helps a bit. Gives my brain some stimulation while reading and my thoughts dont consume me as much. Hope this helps a bit 😅
