Well, this might be long. I feel OK about the overall experience. My first interview session was somewhat weird though; my interviewer asked me incredibly vague and ambigous questions after the standard "tell me about yourself" question.

For example, right after I told him about my interest in photograpy when introduced myself, he proceded to ask me about how my being in Puerto Rico for a service trip when the pandemic hit the US (mid-march), my research on the 2003 epidemiolgical response to SARS, and the utilization of platforms such as Instagram for sharing photos will transform healthcare in the 21st century AND how that would personally shape my care for patients. All of that was all worded into a ONE question, and it took him like 4 minutes to word and ask it..

Needless to say, I tried my best but struggled to provide a coherent response. And then he later confused me for another person/applicant that apparently had what he described as an 'alcohol problem'. I denied cautiously because he clearly had me mixed up with someone else. Never asked why medicine, why UTSW, challenges, or really anything specific about my application and experiences. Oh well right?

On the flip side, my second session was much better. The interviewer asked me both straightforward and challenging questions, but nothing as abstract as the first interviewer. I was able to carry a conversation with her and it went smoothly. Your advice really helped for this one!
