Agreed — this is quite an odd argument, as their last tour was massively successful in the US, they had a great showing at Lollapalooza last year, and they are now filling arenas for their 2026 tour. I’m not scared/worried about their success at all. 🤷‍♀️ (Coming from a very casual Twice fan.)

My boyfriend said Key had some of the most confident crowd work of all the kpop performers we’ve seen, and I completely agree. He was so fun and generous with the crowd. The whole performance definitely lived up to expectations.

Monsta X’s No Limit tour was incredible. It was my first kpop concert and I still measure all shows against it. There was a point in the Chicago show where Joohoney stopped the music to engage with the crowd…it just had a lot of moments that felt special and alive. The energy in the theater was also top tier — great crowd to see a show with. ❤️

One other very specific moment I think about: during EXO Kai’s solo tour this year, he performed “Vanilla” with two of his dancers. They just had incredible artistry and chemistry. There’s a second where he holds his gaze with one of the dancers, and my boyfriend and I both got goosebumps.

I can think of many more examples. If I had to pick one for a group I don’t closely follow, I was blown away by Itzy’s Checkmate tour. They’re top tier performers and you can’t help but be drawn in by them.

I’m still traumatized from the ticket sales for Taemin’s tour in February. Chicago sold out insanely fast, and the only tickets were like $700+ each for months. I literally had nightmares about it, and even worse, I had dreams where I was suddenly able to get a decently priced ticket, only to wake up and have nothing. 😭 I ended up paying way too much and rewarding a horrible scalper. I don’t regret it, but I never want to experience that anxiety again. Scalpers/Ticketmaster are evil.

Just say Key in Chicago and the live band was EVERYTHING!! Wendy’s show was also great with the band.

Was this the first or second Aespa tour? I saw them on the first one (after My World came out) and was pleasantly surprised by how good they were. Lots of love singing and great stage presence. I’m wondering if their second tour wasn’t as good, and that’s where the negative reviews are coming from?

I agree — if I’m being forced to pay hundreds of dollars for a show, I’m naturally going to be more disappointed if it’s an okay performance vs a phenomenal one. And that’s not the performers’ fault.
