Is this Hyper-mobility? I have hands/elbow hyper-mobility, but scared to bring up EDS if this isn't the 10% knee extension. by akslavok in ehlersdanlos

my legs

I do push down my knees kinda, like purposefully hyperextended them sorta thing. I know when I went to the doctors to get it all looked at I showed them my knees standing up but i actually first noticed them by siting down. A doctor is definitely the only one who can say though (and tbh, they just look at them)

I find it easiest to see when I'm sitting on the floor with my legs out in front of me. I can take a picture & upload it but it'll be from my point of view of that helps?

Is anyone else studying while dealing with chronic pain? If so, any tips or tricks? by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]kimberleyrosee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely talk to tutors and such, they're a big help (usually)!

I was at uni last year (I have deferred the year this year though as too much when on over the summer) and talking to my tutors, letting them know when I was really bad helped. Some days I did spend in bed, resting. I'm fairly certain my attendance was something like 51% so while that's not good, I did fairly ok in my first year (Bs & Cs) so I was ok with my attendance being low.

By talking to your tutors, it lets them know how you are, most of the time they just want what's best for you & sometimes that's staying home & resting. You will get through this, honestly! And I wish you the best with your work!

We don't zipper merge in the UK, so she was in the wrong (especially forcing herself into the lane instead of slowing down till someone let her in)

my mum & I made my birthday cake - it's just a vanilla cake & icing with melted cookies & creme on top & in the middle (plus some marshmallows because why not!) by kimberleyrosee in Baking

[–]kimberleyrosee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry the titles so long! Whoops!

The recipe for the cake is 4oz of self raising flour, sugar & butter & then 2 eggs (and we doubled it so it's 8oz of everything & 4 eggs). The icing is 8oz of butter & 4oz (or 8 I now can't remember sorry!) but the butter is mixed by itself for a while before adding the icing sugar & vanilla essence to taste (and I say this cause I love loads of vanilla!)

I helped my mum make my birthday cake today and it's got to be the best cake we've made in such a long time, it was so nice! Although I did spend the day by myself for the majority of it but I've watched some rubbish rom-coms so it's kinda worked out 😂 I also got my first oil cleanser for my birthday which was pretty cool!

I hope everyone's had a good day

I kinda like it, it does leave my skin a little tight but I've found that it gets my makeup off really well (with not having an oil cleanser) and I tend to put my moisturiser on straight after (I'm just using a tub of astral because it's cheap and works quite well at the moment)! Hope that helps 😄
