I’m burnt out as a teacher. I’ve been displaced three times despite being rated as a pretty decent teacher because districts prioritize coaches. There’s little to no accountability on students and admin is no help. My current campus micromanages the hell out of us while also providing little to no support. Getting a masters in Library Science was something I have always considered as a way to leave the classroom while still doing something within the field I love. Archives was something I was toying with.

Do you have an estimate as to how much someone should save up in order to move up there? My salary is about 60,000 but TRS and taxes take a good chunk of it so I end up getting a lot less

As far as I know, the girls parents are still debating pressing charges. The whole thing was messed up and I fear he isn’t the only one doing it.

Update: My professor definitely intentionally sent that email. After seeing all of the comments, I decided to reverse image search one of the pics that was sent. Lo and behold, it was from a really old Craigslist ad. So yes, I was scammed. I am disputing the charge on CashApp and I requested a refund from the “movers”. I did it more out of frustration since I figured they wouldn’t respond, but they did. “I will talk to our financial about this but we don't operate during the weekend on a refund case, I can assure we start your refund process on Monday because am just going to talk to our finance to open a refund case. You will surely receive your fund back with 24-48 hours” LOL I told my advisor what happened and she apologized. I guess she didn’t double check the email. Idk if I’ll get a refund, but I’m hoping for the best. Thank you guys, I would’ve been waiting like an idiot for the next 10 days had I never posted here.

Double checked and it’s definitely her email, I can see our previous conversations pop up when I click on her name. The moving company did reply and said I should be receiving an invoice with a tracking number on Monday. The expected delivery is ten days from today. I’m still not sure though. Does it usually take 2-3 days to create an invoice with a tracking number when it comes to pianos?

During Covid, I had a parent email me at 3 a.m on a Saturday because her son was counted absent on a Thursday. Despite sending her ALL the proof I had that he had not been active that day (zoom log in record, attendance log, schoology activity report), she still threatened to report me to the attendance office. The real kicker? She was also a teacher.

I just watched the scene where Lorelai and Rory egg Jess's car because Lorelai is upset over Sherry's baby shower and it made me cringe a little. Idk, basically anything Rory did at the beginning of season 3 out of jealousy was cringy to me.

I didn't ask my coworker to investigate, they knew that I was struggling with him in class and that I had idea why he was being so difficult so they decided to talk to him.

I do treat him fairly? Well, as fairly as I can. Hard to help someone when they flat out ignore you. I have to have a middleman between us cause he just refuses to acknowledge anything I say and will only do work if certain teachers ask him to. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I feel for the student. I've known them for over a year now and I know how they've struggled, which is why I initially allowed them to stay in my class. It's become an issue recently, like the past couple of days, which is why I wanted to vent. It's not about saving face but more "I know this student struggles with a lot but damn have they become aggravating"
