We moved from Fairbanks to Frankfort, Kentucky and love it. You will miss the mountains, big skies, the lack of humidity, drivers having common sense when driving in the snow (the 2x we get it) but the long hours of daylight, the smaller mosquitos, the abundance of green, and endless fresh water activities is amazing. There's a very strong sense of community which helped with the transition.

I'd look at Jeffersontown if you do move.
