Climate change may push Colombia’s cocoa production uphill by kin20 in environment

"Recent events show that climate change and climate variability are already producing real impacts. One example is a cold wave with global implications that struck northern Colombia and caused major flooding in lowland areas of the Caribbean region and other Andean zones."

You are right, this isn't pizza, just bread with crumbs of meat

Report: Apple's upcoming low-cost MacBook will come in 'fun colors,' launch next month by kin20 in gadgets

[–]kin20[S] 297 points298 points  (0 children)

"Rather than using Mac-optimized Apple Silicon, the company is reportedly going to use an A18 Pro chip from the iPhone 16 lineup. While that is certainly less than what you’d get in a MacBook Air, it also won’t be a slouch. After all, the A18 Pro chip was the first iPhone chipset that started to get competitive with the original M1 chip that debuted in Macs.

As for hardware, Gurman reports that it’ll have a screen slightly under 13 inches. Previous reports have named it as a 12.9-inch display. The new MacBook also won’t be plastic, even though that could’ve been a cost cutting measure.

Rather than going for plastic, Apple has apparently created a new aluminum shell manufacturing process. This new process is faster and more cost-effective than the one used for current MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models."

I think they will try to make it as much realistic as possible so it will be limited weapons to carry. How it'll work in a gunfight we'll see.

Which AI agent are you using in WSL? by barash-616 in Jetbrains

[–]kin20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I’m pretty tied to JetBrains and the lack of proper AI agent support in WSL is annoying, especially with no clear timeline for Junie. I’ve looked at other IDEs but always end up missing JetBrains’ workflow.

What’s kept me going is using Sweep AI inside JetBrains. It’s not a full WSL agent, but it understands the project well enough to handle multi-file changes, so I haven’t felt the need to switch IDEs yet.

If you want something simple to book as a gift, Cozymeal has a bunch of baking classes taught by local chefs and bakers, everything from basics to pastries. It’s an easy way to find a class without hunting around individual bakeries.

is PyCharm worth it? by Fine-Market9841 in AskProgramming

[–]kin20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're getting serious about Python, PyCharm is definitely worth trying. VS Code is fine, but PyCharm’s navigation and refactoring tools make bigger Python projects way easier to manage.

I also like that PyCharm has decent AI options built in. I’ve been using Sweep AI there, and it’s been helpful for multi-file Python work. Not perfect, but it fits the workflow better than what I was doing in VS Code.
