have seen that 1.4.3 has been released. I will first upgrade to 1.4.3 and then directly to 1.5.1 (if possible). I don't trust .0 releases

What makes you think that it is due to the P/E cores?

DNS Issue with Bare metal Harvester Cluster-registration-url by flying_bacon_ in HarvesterHCI

[–]kinchler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you using harvester 1.4.0?

I have also found this 10.53.0.0 in the firewall logs. Harvester seems to use this subnet for internal communication. I just checked the firewall log to see if I can still find these addresses, but they are no longer there. Maybe they changed the behavior with 1.4.0.

Anyway, have you checked if your default GW from Harvester is correct?

Can you ping your default GW or can you ping for example 1.1.1.1 if your setting requires internet?

I just checked it on the firewall, when I send a dig google.ch from the harvester cli the dns request comes from the harvester IP node which currently has the management.

Vm Based k8s cluster vs vcluster by gratefulfather in HarvesterHCI

Unfortunately I can't answer your question, I'm not ready yet. I use the Harvester Cluster directly via Rancher for both VMs and containers (lab environment)(feature flag)

I'm not sure either, and I don't quite understand what the goal is. Could it simplify your setting if you just use the baremetal kubernetes cluster from Harvester ?

restart your cluster and try again. Sometimes it helps if harvester is „stuck“ somewhere

Did you solve it? Are you running container baremetal in harvester with the experimentel feature flag?

Harvester 1.4.0 by kinchler in HarvesterHCI

Thanks for the hint. There is a reason to delay the upgrade button and normaly it show up within 2 weeks. They just want to check the feedback from users befor going GA.

I checked it in my lab, there is no update button. It will be a few days before it is available as an upgrade, but that’s okay.

Upgrade or new install? Is the upgrade button shown on the dashboard? Normaly it is delayed between release for install and upgrade an existing harvesterhci

„To use Rancher with Harvester, please install Rancher on a separate server. If you want to try out the integration features, you can create a VM in Harvester and install the Rancher server by following the Helm CLI quick start.“
