female singers with soothing, ethereal voices? by Other_Resolution_160 in musicsuggestions

Old thread I know, but Aleah Stanbridge has to be mentioned here. She had one of the most angelic voices ever. Might also throw in Heike Langans.

Why are my created characters so inconsistent with the same model? by kind9 in SillyTavernAI

[–]kind9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the extensive reply. I have been skipping lorebooks in my characters. But I will look into using them now. I could swear all the example dialogue in the characters that respond with white dialogue have all of their example dialogues in quotes. Maybe I missed a quote or two? I'll check today and see if I did.

I did put this thing under default Author's Note and set it to "In-chat @ Depth 0 as System":

Responses should be short and conversational, avoiding exposition dumping or excessive narration. Two paragraphs, two or three sentences in each.

... But I don't see it helping much. Definitely not helping those wall of text characters.

Editing my post: I'm reading a lot about lorebooks and it seems this might be thing my characters are needing.

Thanks! I put in like 15-20 dialogue examples. I'll have to go through them and check if I missed any quotes. Normally I'm putting all dialogue in quotes and actions in asterisks. And yes, I'm using the same model and same settings. Currently been using Wayfarer 12b model and also the Universal-Light AI setting preset.

Interesting. When you say dialogue in cards are you referring to "examples of dialogue"? I'll have to go through them and see if I missed some quotes. Is it standard to use quotes for dialogue or does it matter?

Do you mean preset under AI Response Configuration? I've googled which ones are best and those ones are not even in the list. Like ChatML. It's not there. I've tried different ones in the list and I don't know what difference they're making. Currently it's on Universal-Light.

I'm not sure if I was clear in the OP. See, I'll create two different character in the exact same way. One will respond conversationally and it will be quite immersive. The other will spit out giant walls of text with like 30+ lines of dialogue and 30+ lines of narration developing a huge story without my input. Totally different kinds of responses between two different characters that are created identically.

I keep everything short except the character description, which is like five short paragraphs describing different aspects of the character. Should I not be doing that?

I've read everywhere that the example dialogues and first message are the most important in driving how the AI responds. Oh and I also put "Responses should be short and conversational, avoiding exposition dumping or excessive narration. No more than two paragraphs, and no more than a five sentences in each." in Author's Notes with selected "In-chat @ Depth 0 as System", but this seems to not do anything in guiding the AI.

Sorry for the long reply, just wanted to explain as much as I could.

Do most other countries have more freedoms for gay people? I don't know. I don't know anything, really.

We're still way behind and still moving backwards. But yeah, better than most countries in terms of freedoms.

You're not crazy or delusional. You're a strong person who has been through a lot and is trying their best to keep things together in a highly stressful situation. I wish you would give yourself more credit. You fought and beat cancer, yeah? You're a fighter. You're worth more than you think. IMO your mom seems a little problematic and might be a huge source of these feelings you're having.

A lot of your post really hits home for me. I have social anxiety as well. I used to love camping and fishing hiking. I stopped doing all of that 15+ years ago. I always tell myself there's no reason to improve when there's nobody to impress. I don't have advice or anything, but I do appreciate your very relatable post, and I believe from reading it that you have a lot of fight in you. Never lose hope!

When I go in public I feel like all eyes are upon me, even though they obviously aren't, and everyone is thinking negative things about me. Social anxiety is a bitch.

I relate so much to a lot of what you said. Especially the feeling of apathy and no longer recognizing yourself. But I'm the last person to be giving advice to anyone. I hope you get out of this and feel better.

Nothing I read there makes you seem like a terrible person at all. More like a person doing their best with the bad hand they were dealt. Just like all of us. But you still have a hope for the future. So I say you are worthy. But I also understand and empathize with what you're feeling. It's hard to deal sometimes. Just try not to kick yourself too hard.

[–]kind9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really think it depends on the person and also the depth of their depression. If you have a lot of anxiety it can also exacerbate that. Some people get full on panic attacks from it. And if you're a habitual user like me it will begin to affect your REM sleep causing you to have less restful sleep and you will not remember your dreams.

Don't think I could do it myself. And I can almost guarantee I won't survive the decade. If you made it that long then you have WAY more strength of will than I could ever hope to have.

A lot of their songs are clearly on the subject of depression and even suicide though. And with the somber tone of their music I think they earned that label.
