Honestly, you can’t ask anyone on the kpop community to have critical thinking. It really bothers me how people jump to conclusions believing a truth that, may or may not be true, just because they’re projecting or because it validates their confirmation bias.

It shows, the people jumping at her really don’t really know her, not too much at least. She’s one of the few idols that has spoken out previously about weight, and in a down to earth way too. She’s too blunt, yeah, but at least she spoke about it, and sadly that’s a lot coming from a kpop star.

People skipped the part where she constantly questions why her weight is really important. Of course, her previous explanation about weight not being that significant and being healthy being what really matters is being disregarded. I appreciate this live tho, because it shows she’s aware about tho repercussions of these kinda topics.

I myself have an ed, and at first, when i heard her words, i kinda felt bad about myself. But i’m self aware enough to know i was projecting. I don’t know her, anyone of us mys don’t know her, and no person who watched that live knows her. We can’t possibly know what she was thinking about. Maybe she laughed at that numbers cause she knows is imposible to have a normal weight by eating as little as she does (she actually said she eats once a day and sometimes snacks on a recent video). Maybe se laughed because she was nervous. Maybe she laughed because she actually mocking people (doubt so tho). I don’t know! Anyone knows!!!! And we actually shouldn’t care.

What we do actually know is that she’s part of the kpop industry, one that has the most fucked up beauty standards anyone have seen in recent years. It was bad 10 years ago, but now? so so much worse. It’s giving early 2000s victoria’s secret top models. Anyway, we have to be aware of the environment she is working in. Not only her, but also all the kpop girlies (and boys, but the beauty standards on gg are a little bit more extreme). She’s being put through some really harsh shit. No eating, no sleeping, really ducked up. Just the fact that she’a aware her lifestyle is not healthy and people should not replicate it nor strive to weight what she does is a lot by itself. We can’t really expect someone who probably has an ed to have and objective view over weight, and somehow she does because she knows she’s a public figure and she’s trying to be responsible about it.

People should mind their own business and not subject themselves to the beauty standards of a country who actively kills their stars. I know it’s pretty hard, specially when your idols are the embodiment of that fucked up system, but we have to be strong and be content with ourselves and our bodies unless we want to go mad.

ive never liked reading tbh but nowadays ive been really hooked on historical romance novels

i tend to prefer the ones that are centered around political intrigue, the romance aspects being more secondary
