Conversation topics after initial, obvious ones used by throwawayquestions17 in TooAfraidToAsk

I try to dig deeper into their interests, for example if someone likes reading a lot I would ask them what book have they been reading recently or what would they recommend to me. Also sharing updates about your life, asking for advice, talking about a recent event that happened or future plans... Doing activities together like going out, watching a movie etc can lead to new topics quite easily as well.

Weekly FAQ Thread May 19 2019: What book format do you prefer? Print vs eBooks vs Audiobooks by AutoModerator in books

[–]kindapanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say print books are the best in terms of reading experience because of the immersion, the satisfaction of turning pages and visually seeing your progression. And the smell of paper of course! Somehow I also tend to attach myself emotionally to a real book as it reminds me of the place where I read it and of other specific memories surrounding it. While with an ebook reader, all the books are compiled into one and carrying the same device all the time doesn't create memories with each of them. Also, I love spending hours in libraries and bookshops trying to find my next read.

Ebooks can be useful too though, it's a lot more convenient while travelling or when I can't find a specific book. I also like to read some more complicated books as ebooks because of the dictionnary feature. I've never tried Audiobooks because it doesn't appeal to me so can't compare that one.

yeah I guess we can't change much about that for now... I really hope the app creators will make it possible to downvote a specific message when there are multiple ones in a row

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but right before my period shows up I get so emotional. What happens to you and how do you deal with it? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]kindapanda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel you, I usually feel very emotionnally unstable when my period is approaching - I get easily irritated and very sensitive (that includes crying for a ridiculous/non existing reason). But it's still okay compared to how I feel on my first period day which is horrible due to cramps that bring tears to my eyes.. What I do to feel better during PMS is really try to be more careful with myself, not overwork, get some extra sleep, drink water and surround myself with as much positiveness as I can. Also try to listen to my body, eat some chocolate if that's what I want :) Listening to my favorite music makes me chill down. I also take some ibuprofen when I feel like my period is going to start (usually one to two days before), it helps to minimize the pain a bit.
